Hello guys, I can't activate Resizable BAR.

4G encoding is enabled.
Resizable BAR is set to Auto.
I installed Nvidia Profile Inspector and enabled the Resizable BAR feature, options, and size limit.

Resizable BAR still appears to be disabled according to the Nvidia Control Panel.

I'm using a Ryzen 3600, B450M DS3H and an RTX 3070.

Any clue? Thanks !

Two ideas

1. Check mobo BIOS release notes for mention of Resizable BAR. Install (or stagger installs as instructed to reach) latest release.
2. Chances are very high manufacturer of your RTX3070 has a custom version of this available on your gpu model's support page.

Yeah, it’s the GPU BIOS. You need an update for ReBAR to work. If it’s not supported in firmware, then no amount of Inspector tinkering will enable it. After the BIOS update the Inspector part becomes unnecessary.

not much of a loss for enabling rtx 30 series resizeable bar...
the performance gain is 1-3fps if im being honest...
but hey you know that was 4 years ago... not sure about now hopefully

That worked, updated my 3070 with msi center. Thanks man!

Hi! Could you explain how you updated the RTX BIOS with MSI Center?

Believe there is a setting in BIOS that allows it to automatically look for drivers. Probably something inside MSI Center as well. For a MSI GPU with non-MSI mobo you might consider just going to the support page online and looking for the correct download.

You also need Windows installed with a GPT partition as well as the bios setting changes.

Go to Support -> Live Update. There, you should see an available update for your GPU. I believe it was called "VBIOS Update" or something similar. If not, hit the Scan button.

you need to update your motherboard BIOS

you need to use Windows 10 22H2 100% updated
or Windows 11 24H2 100% updated

The BIOS must have UEFI Enabled, SecureMODE User enabled, Virtualization enabled and TPM enabled.

CSM disabled

Oh thanks! And then where were you able to make sure you had resizable bar activated?

Nvidia Control Panel -> Help -> System information -> there you should see "Resizable Bar <Yes>"
But also make sure you have 4G decoding Enabled and Resizable Bar Enable or Auto in Bios

People are afraid to update the BIOS
And they also don't know how to change the BIOS to prepare it for a correct installation of Windows 10 and 11.

As you said, to install in GPT, UEFI needs to be active, SecureBoot Active, Virtualization Active
