Can't start up anymore.

Lex, with all due respect, it's because you are an enthusiast. You work through the problems. Most general users cannot.
X99 is still plagued with bad USB support, extremely picky memory settings, and generally poor bios support from manufacturers.
Being an older platform now, most of this will never get any better, only worse.
The short timeline platforms always take the biggest beating.
Personally, from an enthusiast standpoint, I like the short run platforms. More challenging and greater satisfaction when you get one tweaked up right. ;)
I see what you mean. I'm also a businessman who runs a PC shop. Understood what you both meant of course. Only saying that I've just not seen anything that I would consider a deal-breaker for the platform. I look at the problems you mentioned as par-for-the-course. Whether we're talking about Intel, AMD, NVidia or anyone else, every platform has it's quirks. And if someone can't solve a problem on their own, they come to people like me and the folks at my shop to help them solve it. Thinking it's just a perspective thing here. We're looking at the same big picture, but each have different views of it.
