Installed 10.12 last night, everything working (with the new CCC preview) EXCEPT I do not have overdrive anymore.... am I missing something here? Did a complete unistall of all previous drivers/CCC etc etc before this install.

So are you even able to set fan speed manually ?

I do not see the sense in serving as a guinea pig to test AMDs new UI. They should come up with a decent one in 11.x and don't make the 10.12 "HUGE" by giving people cr*p that does not work. I suggest downloading the conventional version. Why waste time and nerves on an unfinished product? We paid for it!

Nope, I am having to use Asus Smartdoctor for fan speeds and GPU/memory overclocking, however I do prefer using just the one utility for all my needs.

Yeah I get what you are saying but when they put drivers out aren't they supposed to improve the performance of the cards you have ? I always wondered if they just keep putting them out for fun to see how many will DL them . :banghead: But some times I have seen real improvement like I seen a nice jump in BM from 10.8 to the 10.11 I have now . Not much maybe 5 FPS more but even then drivers are technically supposed to improve the over all performance , Right ?

No, they put out drivers to fix problems with windows and game software cuased by shitty code and lazy developers. Thats why they have to keep updating them.

the significant difference here is that it is nearly impossiable to test for all the various field scenarios that may not popup in the lab regardless of how thurough you actually are. So right now with 4 new cards having been launched. They are likely to have a very very very aggresive upgrade and test schedule. Once the bulk of the bug and problems have been squashed "likely effecting 1-2% of card owners" they will get back into optimization mode.

it seems to be working fine, but the interface is still the old one.

Any ideas?

Well they installed fine for me new UI looks good and is fast to open, so far games I've used are
Grid, HL2, FarCry 2 (both dx10 and 9 mode), quake III (usually ati fuck over OpenGL)

I even get a major gain FPS in FC2 avg dx10 fps used to 57 fps it's now at 88 at 1920x1080p everything on high so that makes me a happy chappy indeed:)

Best Ati (don't let the name dieee!) set I've see yet. NFS Shift is nearly flawless now running @ 16x AF/AA. I went with the 10.12 CCC1 OCL version first, then tried the CCC2 download with mixed results. CCC2 has issues so I recommend the 10.12 OCL version.

I've just installed the von Dach tweak on the 10.12 with conventional UI, works great. Many improvements due to morphological filter, AF improved, geometry instances for direct3d, texture format fix... great!

So I've just installed 10.12 but now GPU-Z and Overdrive both display my GPU idle clock settings at 400MHz and Memory clocks at 1200MHz...
Before when using 10.9 and 10.11 the gpu clock at idle would be something like 137MHz and the memory clocks would go around at 500Mhz something like that

I really don't my gpu heating up and consuming more power at idle so if i don't find any answers i may load up 10.9 again

Go back to AMD Overdrive and hit the default button. Then re-adjust your settings.

ok, now it idles normally again, but on rare occasions it may spike up to 400Mhz and return back to 137Mhz instantly, but i don't really care

Guys,

I don't understand it... You should just use the conventional CCC and everything here mentioned is fine!

Where's the point in installing some useless preview of AMD's new UI? I has NO new functionality! On the contrary, you lose options vis-a-vis 10.10e e.g.

this one: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=332395&page=9

no deceptions :)

I know that you can get them to work. I just don't understand the + points of the new UI if it has flaws from default... you can download the same driver without that new UI and still get a working UI in 11.x

because they realise the current one sucks, and at least are TRYING to make a new one.

of course, they've done a pretty poor job - but a poor effort at least shows they tried.

The reason why I prefer the new CCC over the older one is that I can pin the options I use most to the "Pinned" section of CCC. This cuts down the abnormal navigating in the old CCC down to just 1 click per section (as the "Pinned" section is already expanded for me when I start CCC2).

OK, I see, the ccc UI is crappy. However the new one does not make much of a difference. Its mainly a thing to replace ATI by AMD. Although I prefer the new one by its looks and structure, I don't want to tweak around just to make my fan change speeds e.g.

Maybe it does work for some people and then I see the point in taking the new preview version.

OK, makes sense, it's faster and simpler. I guess its a matter of preferences :)

the ability to pin things is certainly a great improvement. its a pre-release thing, so its not like its finished yet. bugs will be ironed out.

Funny thing is I installed the 10.12 drivers ( work great ) one thing I have noticed now is that the clock speeds are not changing at all in CCC but I have then set to 960/1375 in CCC . GPU-Z sees them at this just not CCC . :wtf:

it would seem they have fixed some things in 10.12 before with 10.10e turning mlaa on would make the likes of WLM and live mail all blurry and unreadable now with mlaa enabled its fine , you can tell mlaa is on but it's not the ultra blured mess it was before

Hey i think i have a problem with these new drivers but i need to ask to confirm if its actually my drivers causing me problems. I decided to do a clean install on w7 but everytime i install these drivers my windows doesnt boot! im pulling my hair out because i must have reinstalled windows around 10 times :( Is this some sort of known problems with these drivers?

EDIT: nevermind, fixed it. too embarassing to say i done -_-

seriously, first I thought the flickering textures in BFBC2 were gone with cat10.12 von modded. But it was a mistake. in heavy metal and acatama desert, there is still a flicker in 2 types of ground mesh faces. the dirt mesh and the leaf mesh in heavy metal. the sand withj stones ground mesh in acatama desert. I happens for some cards... but not only ATI. I heard about a guy with 285 getting the same. I have treid to use 10.2-10.12a without success. It has somehow improved since 10.9a but stil there on 10.12a. I don't know what this is, how could dice make textures that are so damn hard to compute?
