Catalyst 14.9 WHQL released.

Alwhore is having charges pressed against him for false statements like the one above

Good for Al, fight the power [hungry whores] I say.

Don't have Maxwell and i don't have problems with either. So, what gives again?

These things doesn't matter to you, and still you want someone to make it matter to you. I don't get you.

A what? Don't have problems with either in terms of having heavily overclocked and overvolted card which is drawing well over 200W of power and is not hot neither noisy. It's not like good coolers haven't existed for what, decades? But no, people buy the absolute minimum crap they stick on cheapest cards and then bitch about heat and noise...

Yeah, gotta be really careful with aftermarket coolers when picking high end amd card

@AphexDreamer
Have you called xfx and talked to there tech guys about the problem? I had an issue with one of the 2 xfx 4series cards with one not giving close to the same numbers as the other and I ran some benches and recorded them and emailed them the tests. If memory serves me correctly they took the card back and I had a replacement within the week

To me it sounds like a power switching problem from 3d to 2d and maybe they will link you to a test bios if you ask nicely.

Yeah this is how it ended. But sadly even after the BIOS update I still kept getting artifcats. Looks like its up to when I decided to RMA. What I've been doing it running chrome with GPU Acceleration Disabled. Makes for less switching from 2D to 3D.

Anyone getting memory leaks after installing this? I can't be sure if its the driver or Game but My ram usage spikes up with no apparent source in task manager.

Its the Non-Paged Pool.

Not with Divinity Original Sins at least, not sure about others though. It's at 89 and games been running a good 8 hours lol.

For me 14.9 and 14.9.1 not functionnal with Crossfire R9 280X Tri-X OC 3Gb ...

AMD-CCC-after-14-9-1beta_install.JPG

So I installed the 14.9.1 Beta; AMD CCC tells me to be still 14.7 ....

Version Driver Package = 14.301.1004.141004a-176493E (14.9.1 beta) (141004 = 04/10/2014 = October 2014)
But ! Catalyst Version stay on 14.7 ...

So i have reinstalled the version 14.7.

now the 14.7 display now "version Driver Package = 14.20.1004-140709a-173735E (140709a = 09/07/2014 = July 2014)

Edit : I completely uninstalled the 14.7 before testing the 14.9

If anyone has encountered this problem please let me know;)

did you use DDU?

yeah, the guy who wrote it is super involved, and updates it often.

Its fixes a lot of problems for a lot of people.

The fact that its showing up as 14.7 leads me to believe you have registry fragments, or keys that were locked when you uninstalled.

DDU should take care of that.

I don't know, maybe you can ask the AMD rep over at Tom's in the thread he made about this driver update on the Graphics forum.

I often don't even bother DLing let alone installing new AMD drivers anymore. They only seem to care about R9, APUs, and Crossfire.
i got a slight improvement in mordor.
i was using 14.4 before :D

Yes i have using "amd_cleanup_util_1.2.1.0.exe" without success ...

So, if i using "amd_cleanup_util_1.2.1.0.exe" i can before install catalyst ; go to the regedit to deleted AMD Drivers Registry ?

Today AMD announced that with the release of its Catalyst 14.6 Beta that they would no longer be supporting Windows 8 :shadedshu:

Is windows 8 that bad? I have no problems with it and I don't care about the dam start button.
How can a driver support Vista, W7, W8.1 and yes W10, but not 8??? :twitch:

because you can update free of charge to 8.1 if you did not cheap out when you got win8 as some versions are not upgradable.

Because anyone with Windows 8 can use Windows update to get the superior 8.1 at no cost? There's no reason to use Windows 8. It is defunct.

Defunct - Why is the question.

Just like vista

Free yes, but too much trouble for me :(
8.1 just don't like what I have installed on my computer and gives me a lot of errors. I spent a whole day trying to upgrade an as I eliminated one error, I'd get another. Not into a reinstall either.
Thanks
