Hello. I need a few details from you about 2 Cpus. I need to build a cheap gaming rig for a friend, and i need some suggestions about the cpu. I have to choose between Athlon II X3 450 & Phenom II X2 550
The rest of the config will be : ASRock M3A785GXH/128M , 2x2Gb Mushkin Silverline 1333 Cl9 , Asus 5770 1Gb , 550W psu , 24" BenQ LED FullHD , Win7.

make sure the motherboard can unlock cpus, and then take the PII 550 and try to unlock it :)

yes... the mobo have unlock feature.... so the PII 550 will be !!! thanks :toast:

If you already have the stuff fair enough but as this is for a friend maybe a mobo with a 3 year warranty and a newer chipset if money is not the issue ( checked egg about the one you have\getting and they sell it no more ).

Just saying is all and here's what i came up with after talking to a few on this forum. Shame ya don't have a newegg over there :(.

In the case of a potential unlock to a quad. An aftermarket cooler could be useful to aid a semi decent overclock at nice temps.
