so some cpu I see are great in multi and others in single. so then its hard to decide. id like to learn to edit which uses multi, but some gaming too. so how do you choose?

im considering an older cpu. perhaps like a 3900x, or then maybe just going with a 5600x. I dont know. one is better at multi and the other single. I dont care to buy old at all. I dont buy new just cause "its better". only the performance matters.

also how much does the cpu weigh in on gaming? meaning, if I get a 3900x, is a 6600xt too weak for the 3900x or fine? will the 3900x be waiting on the 6600xt? im not looking to get anything more then the 6600xt unless I can find a 5700xt at a good price. Im buying used

If you already own a AMD board and it's mainly for gaming, get a 5800x3d.

5600x for sure. Another option is to get like a 3600x and get a beefier GPU instead.

Edit what?

thanks. learning to edit video fhd rez. not enough for 4k. anything but adobe.

so would a 3700x be a better choice? I dont always play the newest games or even need crazy fps. for me 60fps is perfectly fine. I dont care to drop game rez and details for 50-60fps. thats perfectly fine.
