Hello TPU members, i am really confusing here. I have two Computers one for me just gaming with Gtx1080 and the other one i want to build it for my Gf use it for video editing (mostly Adobe Softwares) and 1080p gaming.
the hardware parts i have now
1- mb's : i have 2 X79's motherboards and one X99, Asus X79 Sabertooth and Asrock X79 Extreme 6 , asrock X99 extreme 11.
2- CPU 3930k run and work well at 4.4Ghz use it one asus sabertooth for gming and not feel really want to upgrade (didn't see big improve with x99).
3- Ram i have 32Gb and think to add another 32g
4- VGA Gtx680 , maybe gtx780 next or 980ti , whatever gpu can do gpu render.

So what you think? sell one x79 and the x99 motherboards ? and rendering on 3930k ? , or Buy CPU and RAM's for X99 which cost a lot cuz if i upgrade i will go with 8 core cpu at least.
i can spend $300 budget for the X79 CPU, i found xeon 2695 v2 priced $280 i see it it's look a good deal but still want to share ideas with you guys.
let me ask about compare between 3930k @4.4ghz 6 cores 12m VS xeon 2695 v2 @3.4ghz 12 cores 30mb cash in rendering then gaming.

thanks and regards..

you want to make sure you know what editing software she'll be using that way you know what GPU acceleration of the program implements, because youll want to make a purchase based on that information. Also more cores are better when it comes to editing .so as were a gaming PC can get by with four coresjust fine, One being used for editing as well will be best off having hyperthreading or equivalent.

I'm sure 3930 will render perfectly fine. Also an important factor is what resolution she's going to be editing/rendering in. Storage will also be a concern as high speed drives will help benefit when editing PC iirc.

What I mean is rendering in 4K is a big difference in rendering in 1080 P as far as PC strain goes

Choice is yours but I would go with x99 personally.
me too but need more budget like $1200, so that mean rendering will be on 3930k.

mostly adobe software's, rendering will be on 1080p mostly, high speed storage are set 1 Tb samsung Evo SSD.

Personally, I'd keep the 3930k and less expensive X79 MB, and sell the X99 and more expensive X79 MB. I'd pair it with a ti, either the 780 or 980(IIRC, the 780ti is a better cruncher/renderer than the regular 980 cards, I could be wrong though), and as much of the fastest RAM as I can get in it.

You have to choose between rendering and gaming. There isn't really a middle ground.

My rig in system specs is for rendering and I game mostly on console.

X79 stuff fetches a pretty penny sell all of the X79 stuff and grab a good 2011 V4 CPU.

keep 1 X99 board, then sell all the other hardware, gather some bucks and start a new build, easier...

Regards,

around 10 cores cpu with turbo boost over 3.2ghz it will be ok with rendering and gaming too

you point over my budget, i hope i have $3K to buy a good v4 xeon

Regards,

i need 2 computers, that will over budget

Then wth are you asking us for? It seems like every option in the first post except for one you won't do... so why ask?

i want some options over what i found cuz i am even with my options i feel confused, i need to share information's to help me choosing or give me other options i missed, i am already searching while i make this thread, still need reasons to convince me like benchmarks-numbers.
i am always looking for performance per dollar option.
like i search buying an x99 with 8 core cpu i will pay about $1200 and i will get maybe 10% over my 3930k with 6900 cpu in games with my gaming pc and that's mean the other pc render in 3930k over e5-2695 v2 i will take 20% advantage in game and loss about %40 performance in rendering.

No one pays full amount for Xeons.

Head over Ebay.
Like I said, there is no middle ground. Large amount of cores is crucial in rendering. Not so much in gaming. Trying to be jack of all trades is going to cost you.

i just want to conclude this poste but i mosely think if you want to do gaming and work you would be better of with amd fx there pretty good for gaming and they got a pretty good speed like the amd fx 8350 is a 8core cpu runing at 4.00ghz and that is actually really good for that so i think you should just change platforme
