Hey guys,
this might seem a stupid question, but is it an absolute taboo to clean the TIM away from CPU and GPU with a "linting" cloth?
I mean, it makes sense that lint on the contactsurface fucks up connection between cooler and Chip, but would it do any other harm to those two components (like burn holes into them or the like )?
I usually clean my stuff with ArctiClean and only use the lint-free cloth for the final phase (with the thermal surface purifier). That should work ok, right? Or would it even be enough to remove all of the visible lint left over by the paper handkerchief by softly blowing over the chips and cooler a bit/ using a dry piece of toilet paper to get it all removed.
Well anyhow, I'm more concerned in as to wheter it damages the compononts or not. Thanks for you answers.
