hey guys I have a q8200 cpu and an acer motherboard wich has no o/c capabilities in bios, so I was wondering if you thinik that the proggy clock gen might help me o/c the cpu some? or will it just be a waste of time for me to install and try? Ive never used that program before and just wanted to make sure that it will not end up screwing something up for me, any suggestions before i try it will be greatly appreciated thanx Dragon

I believe ClockGen ended development many years ago so I doubt it is compatible at all with your system.

you can try it. Its possible it might work.Worse case is you will hang the system and have to unplug it and turn it back on

Blimey, not used that since nForce2.
Did they continue developing it? (me googles)

An alternative that I would try is SetFSB. You need to open up your PC, find the PLL and get the model # off of it. Then, you have to see if the program supports that PLL.

+1 to setFSB for overclocking. Also google up memset while you are there. not as useful to overclock, but will allow you to change ram timings on the fly via windows to help stabilize an overclock. Also without some sort of pencil mod/hard mod, you are going to be stuck clocking with stock voltage, so don't expect miracles;)

thanx i will check out setfsb then will post back as to what i find out Dragon
