hi guys first post and just wondering if anyone has clocked this sucker to a 4000-5000xp+
i have a zalman cnps 7000 aicu and have clocked the cpu to a 3200 at 1.775 volts stable.
i'm just wondering is the zalman sufficient? and what voltage do i need to run my processor stable at something like 3ghz or 4ghz instead of 2.2?

you are gonna need DDR533 ram for that, if your mothorboard is capable. most nForce mobo's can go to 300 FSB

Welcome to the forum:D

you'll be very lucky to get 3ghz out of that chip, let alone 4ghz.i had a 2500 barton a few years ago, mine would go to 3200+ speed(2.2) with no voltage increase.does yours really need that high a vcore to get to 2.2ghz?.i just ran mine at 2.2,i was happy at te time as the chip cost me £50.it would clock to 3200+ easy and that chip was £200+.

it mite go higher tho',i'm no expert m8,just going from my experience with mine.GOOD LUCK anyway.

enjoy this forum, its got some very knowledgeable people on it,and all are friendly and helpful.

3ghz is possible but you'll need 2v or so to get that a very high end ddr but it is possible

well i happened to get one that doesn't like running at 1.65v stably when it's clocked at 2.2
plus i wanted to see how much more life i can get out of this comp btw i run this on a a7n8x-x mobo so i don't have dual channel so am i not able to clock it any higher? i've heard of ppl clocking their p4 2.4c prescotts to 4ghz+ so i was assuming that i could clock this processor just as high

intel and amd are completly diff 3ghz is the max anyone has gotten out of any amd but @2.0v and you should get 3ghz or so but watch your temps!!! no hotter than 55C load

p4 and athlon xp=two differant chips and makers.all chips clock differantly.you could get two consecutive chips off the line and one might clock really well, and the other might not clock well at all.

there are so many differant combinations of board, chip and ram.its quite a bit of luck and getting the right parts as to how well you do clocking.

my RAM tops out at about 238Mhz (476FSB) but the blue screen of death, but is stable at 225Mhz which is about 2.4Ghz, 238Mhz got me to around 2.65Ghz'ishso if you can hit 533 you should able to hit around 3Ghz, but it is the cost.

and the guys that hit 4Ghz on there P4's tend to have high spec ram and motherboard

ok let me put it this way oc the chip in 50mhz inc. till you dont boot anymore boost the volts till it boots again watch your temps if the break 55C load (38~45C idle depending on cooler) stop oc'ing it could fry your chip im guessing b/c of what it took to get 2.2ghz 2.6-2.8ghz will be your max at 55C or just overall clock good luck

i increased the multiplyer on my board from 11.0-12.0 which should've made it a 3600+ but it doesn't recognise it as a 3600+ is my motherboard restricting me? my mobo is an asus a7n8x-x

if it is runing w/ the 12x multi it doesnt matter what it recognizes it as look in cpuz it will give u the multi
