This is a fairly compact case and a fairly large cooler. I measured and test fit it without installing it and I'm worried the top of the heatpipes are going to touch the side panel. Anyone tried it? Thanks

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Doesnt the case specifcations list what cpu cooler (height) it can support? If you have the chassis and cooler, why not just install it and see?

Once I install it I can't return it...

Yup, I did read those specifications, however I believe that the maximum height specification is incorrect as it appears to fit, albeit with the heatpipes barely touching where the side panel would be, hence why I'm curious if anyone actually tried it successfully.

Well, so much for teaching a man how to fish....lol

I suck at fishing, but I can fix anything in a car, I'm not sure what your point is :D I seriously did read the spec sheets of both but that doesn't really correlate to real world experiences.

This would be good info to have in the first post. :)

I'd just install the cooler and see. But typically I'd stick with what the specs say. :)

Haha ok i'll try it later today when my motherboard and cpu show up. I'll report back in case the info helps anyone else.

return the case unless you like it, if you do like the case look for a 92mm tower cooler or a low profile cooler

Doubtful you find someone with that combo of cooler and case to answer your question.

I have a Hyper T2 sitting right here that I was gonna use but I also have the 212 Evo which is why I'm hoping to make it fit, that way I can use the Hyper T2 in my other computer, because the Noctua NH-L9a is barely capable of cooling an A8-6500 which has a 65W TDP and I'm about to install a 760K which has a 100W TDP... If I can make the 212 work in the Intel build I can use the Hyper T2 in the AMD build (though who knows if that Hyper T2 will even fit in the tiny Rosewill FBM-06, lol)

Sometimes specs are wrong, but typically not... a case mfg knows their measurements and what fits. :)

Thanks in advance for letting us know the result!

I know the saying, I was just giving back a little attitude. Anyway I'm going to stare at these tracking numbers til my stuff shows up and come back either surprised or disappointed regarding the fitment of these coolers.

The Noctua should be equivalent of the evo (I owned that cooler plus the the CM Hyper 212+). The Hyper T2 is mediocre but assuming you are not OC you should be OK with it.

If it was me, I would use the Noctua.

As @dirtyferret mentioned, your case support cooler with maximum height 155mm. Get cooler which height is less than 155mm.
Here are some with less than 155mm at newegg: https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=8000 100008000 601291912&d=cpu cooler&Order=PRICE

Edit:
Another good one at 154mm, priced at 40$.

You say it "fits but touches the side panel", but have been testing it without a motherboard if I'm reading you right? If so, it definitely won't fit, given the height difference between the CPU socket and the motherboard tray. If you have had a stand-in motherboard in there for testing, it ought to fit unless that board is a radically different socket with different clearances.

As for cooler choice, I find it odd that your L9a is performing that poorly - I have an L9i on an i5-2400 (95W TDP, hits about 80W under Prime95) in an extremely cramped case, and it works fine. Then again, it is only rated for up to 95W, and is known to struggle at the high end. Plenty of good alternatives above here, though.

I currently have a broken AMD motherboard with an A4-5300 installed in the case. I laid the case down flat and placed the CPU cooler on top of the AMD CPU, then I looked from the side to see if I could see the heatpipes. I barely saw the tips of them. Then, I ran a flat thing (coat hanger) over the top of the case and it did NOT touch the heatpipes, however that doesn't account for the thickness of the side panel. So I'm not sure if it's gonna work or not.

As for the baby Noctua, it's always been awful - I used it, along with that A4-5300, as an HTPC then it was run as a router/server for a few years... it was fine but it always ran really hot and temps were awful (used to run F@H on the HTPC), though as the router it only had 100% CPU for short periods at once... Currently if I stress the A8-6500 to 100% it goes to 90C + fairly quickly.

I'm sure it will fit if you just use enough force to close the side panel...:p
Except for that option it doesn't look good with tiny 80mm rear fan as size scale.
Because of fancy looking marketing BS design Hyper T2 is only 5mm shorter than 120mm fanned Cryorig H7 despite of having tiny 80mm fan.

That's really too much when very high end Mugen 5 is available for 45$

Sorry if I'm not clear, I want the CM Hyper 212 Evo in the TT Versa H17 case and I want the CM Hyper T2 in the Rosewill FBM-06, but I don't think that's gonna happen.

Just to update, the CM Hyper 212 Evo does NOT fit in the TT Versa H17, and the CM Hyper T2 does NOT fit in the Rosewill FBM-06. Oh well :/ ended up using the Hyper T2 in the Versa H17 no problem!

Closing up shop OP since you have decided to use what you have and make it work. I hate to leave it open and have to infract the next person that leaves a smart (and unnecessary) comment ;)
