Ok I finally got my new rig running. (see specs) and I cant seem to get CoD4 to start now. Every time I go to start her up I get an error after the screen goes black saying "iwmp3 has stopped working" Any ideas what could be causing this? It always ran fine on my old system. FYI CoD5 runs fine.

From what I can see, due to my work computer not allowing me to much sites, is that it's a corrupted install.. They got it fixed by uninstalling, cleaning reg, and reinstalling...

But, to me, the wording of the problem sounds sound related.. how's your onboard extra's on sound set up?

Go to your miles folder, delete that mp3 file in it and make sure sure hardware sound acceleration is on full.

get another copy or reinstall or install in safe mode

Try a reinstall.

Yep reinstall, and if its anything like WAW set your audio quality to 48khz

COD4 works just fine, on my computer. I am pretty sure its that file in the miles folder. If not, its his sound or something or maybe even the drivers.

I had the same problem the other day on my lappy. The fault was caused by video drivers. I installed xfastest 180.70 and the game constantly crashes...then I installed Dox 180.84.1 and had no issues. These are laptop drivers...as for desktop...try another version of drivers.

Ok problem solved. All I had to do is disable the front headphone jacks in the Realtek CP. Runs great now!

Glad to see that it's working now for ya man!!
