cod4 network problem

ok, a friend of mine when tries to play cod 4 online, every few minutes it disconnect of the server. he tried reinstalling but didnt work. any ideas would be appreciated

Is he getting PB Kicked? If so downloading the PB update client should help in that situation. I had a buddy on 256k cable that could play most of the time, but he would get disconnected from time to time. CoD4 really doesn't need much bandwidth aside from downloading mods and custom maps. That's where I would start though, have him go to this link and get it, he can add any game he has installed to the list (if supported) for it to update the PB versions.

he has already udpated the punkbuster, but it doesnt says "punkbuster has kick u", it says, u were disconnected from the server

What kind of connection does he have? How is his ping in said server? Is it any server or a particular server or a couple of servers out of the bunch? Is it while playing, downloading mod, downloading custom map, while connecting, anything in particular that he's doing when it does it this or pretty much any time at random (after a couple minutes no matter what?).

Does he share his connection? Is he using wireless or is someone using wireless from his router? If so is WEP/WPA active? Any more info you can provide might help to find the culprit, kind of hard saying at this point without a little more concrete info unless someone else has seen the issue. Might be worth updating his DirectX, lan drivers, etc...dunno. Keep us posted, hopefully he's fixed and issue free sooner than later!

uses cable, happens at random time after the game started or sometimes after loading the map, he tried in a couple of servers only, but i always plays on the same servers and nothing happens, he uses cable dsl connection, yes he shares its connection with another pc i think
