Is it possible to combine a wired connection and a wireless connection together on the same computer?

If you have a wireless card and a LAN card, yes it is possible. You will only be able to use one or the other though, not both at teh same time.

Have both adapters Installed and not configured....go Into "Network Connections".....Highlight both adapters In there.....right click on them Highlighted and choose "Bridge Connections".....after that the 2 adapters will act as one.....but....as far as I know Windows will still only Utilize 1 of them for your Internet access.

You can use 2 wireless cards....1 wireless 1 lan card....or 2 lan cards In your combo attempt.

I've messed with It many times before and never really saw any mad Increase of speeds.

Hope It helps. :)

Dual and even quad LAN cards are very useful for media editing over a network... I use a quad gigabit network between two PC's and use VNC, so I only control one directly per se... Makes it an effective cheap quad-core-ish system and means I can do lots of editing on the fly and move between the two quickly to get effectively twice the work done...

Just out of interest, what is the situation you want this for? That might help us to give more information and understand exactly what you are asking. As most people say, windows will only use one network adaptor at a time for the internet but you can use more than one.

I ask because my apartment has free wireless, but that isn't fast enough for me so I am going to get cable internet also. I'm thinking if I can combine the two steams together or create a larger pipe it would suit my needs

I tried bridging the connections together, but the internet stopped working after I did that.

I don't think that will work - Windows will only use one internet conection at a time, joining the two would be very complicated and I don't know of any way to do it.

It does not work, I tried. Now say if one connection went out, you can have another, but other than that, windows cannot process 2 in one. Not worth your time.
