Just so your aware this isn't a review as such just a general convo on the game.

I havent had much time on this game yet but it seems ok. After just finishing the 3rd game, tiberium wars, it takes quite a bit of time to adjust. Im not fullyaware of all the units and how the whole environment works but it seems that you do not use harvesters etc to collect tiberium, you have commands points that seem to regenerate when your crawler is unpacked. Another point some players might not like is the fact there seems to be some form of unit cap? Thought id just post a few screenies seeing as there isnt anything on here about it.

it's actually a half decent game? I was in the Beta and it was pretty bad.

yeah beta turned me off completely. dumbed down crappy looking... better than supcom2 but that's not saying much ;)

screenies look good. I may actually consider this down the road. thanks :)

wait till you see the ending. . . . . . it sucks, and its ends so abruptly and so unexpectedly its amazing.

man i want to spoil it so bad, the ending makes sense but then you are like uh that was it i thought it would be more complex than that

wikipedia has the plot if you want to know the ending, its probly worth taking a look at if your a fan of the series

the whole storyline changed from the first game, its all about aliens and shit not to do with a terrorist group fighting the world government

The "experimental unit" at the end of the Nod campaign is eff'in ridiculous. I'm playing on easy and the thing slaughters everything I throw at it. I've been at that one unit for an hour probably and it's still got 10% health left. Talk about needing some balacing...

Overall, it is a "meh" game. It is short, I don't particularly like the changes they made and pretty much every aspect of the game (graphics, gameplay, story, etc.) is also "meh." The only thing that stands out as being excessively bad is the music they chose for the Nod campaign. It is sooooo annoying.

Ive played the full version and after the first two missions i got sick of it, i hate it to be honest, only reason id finish this game is for the story, apart from that it just makes me go Grrrrrrrr. You can tell its got RA3 and C&C mixed in, shame on you EA

This Game is a Piece of Shit

he probably hasnt played this "Game" :D

He wouldn't dare give you a holiday without your authorisation wouldn't he? Its your car man, tame it! (its kitt in erockers avatar, isn't it) ROFL! Anyways, back on topic, for those who played it, does it really have some strategy or its all about cranking the strongest unit and spam till you win?

I just cranked out units in the beta and kicked people's behinds.

You have an obsecenly low population cap. Usually it is 50, the highest I saw was 80. Every unit takes at least 3 with the bigger units taking 10. Do the math...
50 / 3 = 16 units that get trampled
50 / 10 = 5 units that take a long time to build

There really are no resources and practically every unit can't do much damage to an enemy unit--even when it is supposed to be strong against it. You also can only build one set of units at any given time (Defense, Offense, Support) and if you want to change it, you have to sacrifice your current set. Usually, you only get 5 "lives" in this sense. The game is over when you run out of lives.

It is different, but I don't particularly like the changes.

I read the campaign doesn't really give Kane the sendoff he deserves. What do the other C&C fans think since I haven't gotten the chance to play this installment yet and I'd like to know.

well i havent been able to finish it but at the moment the movies look alright, from the first few missions kane seems to have lost his menace though, i mean GDI is protecting him he isnt this huge superforce that no one would dare recon with. That is just the first few missions though, it could be some sort of front or it could not, i dont no yet :P

C&C3 confused the hell out of me and C&C4 continues that trend.

You have to play GDI and Nod campaigns to get the whole story and even once you do, you'll still be confused as to why the player should care, at all. Needless to say, it has a pretty pathetic story for two reasons: no real antagonist you can identify with and it isn't clear what the plot really is (ehm, what's the point?).

even so the campaigns arn't amazing, but gameplay itself i think is a very strong point, cor c&c3 at least. I play the skirmishes time and time again. I dont no if c&c4 will have that same effect though with the cap limit and the fact you have to deploy a certain crawler for defense, offense and support limiting your troop payload. The only true pluss point ive found for c&c4 at the moment is it do's look rather good

I thought it looked like crap. The last RTS game I played that had exceptional graphics was the Act of War series.

never played that game, meh i gues there is better but the last game of this type i played was age of empires 3:D

guess you haven't played the SC2 beta? i haven't played Act of War series but i think SC2 beta has great graphics for an RTS(personally best i've seen for an RTS) and the fact that even it runs on my 7800GTX 256mb, 1680x1050, all med shows its been greatly optimized.....oops off topic.
