Controller Problem with GRID

Hi all.
I can see this is an old issue, but its a new game and a new problem for me.
I'm having trouble running a game controller with the game GRID. After much stuffing around I've managed to set up 2 controllers, one generic dual shock and the other a logitech dual action.
The problem I'm having is all the buttons/commands seem to work except for the accelerator. I've tried setting both the right analog stick and the right bottom button as accelerator. Neither seem to register in the game and I'm left on the start line.
What am I missing? This is really frustrating.....:banghead: Everthing is up to date, patch and drivers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

try general hardware or games... this hardly belongs in the WCG section

go in game controllers in windows and make sure all buttons work on there

Yeh it's all calibrated and the buttons work. It just wont recognize in game... I've got two different controllers and the same problem with both.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

moved to games.

hmm try this.

go into the windows pad settings, click on the advanced tab and make sure the prefered pad is set to the pad your using.

i have a converter so i can use my PS1 and PS2 pads and it seems to default to pad 2 when the pc restarts so im woundering if this is the prob your having. i also play grid a lot and have the same prob as you when my pad sets itself to pad2.

according to Wiki a 360 controller is the only one that works with it.

Input methods Keyboard, Xbox 360 Controller, DualShock 3

nah man grid works with many controllers...i have used three different ones with out driver installs and all worked fine...I am currently using a rumblepad by logitech...cuz my good one wore out. Did you try removing from usb slot and then putting back in usb slot with the game NOT running? Then run game and try again.

Yep done that, for both. Even tried one at a time. Same thing.

I'll give it a shot....

Ok this is getting weirder. Just out of curiosity, after trying the above, I set the commands back to key board and no aacelerator.
Uninstall/Reinstall??

Problem solved:toast:
I started a new profile in game and now everything works:ohwell:
Thanks for all the suggestion guys:)

i dont like the way most new games try to force you to go out and buy a 360 pad just to play the damn games, i hate xbox pad personly but there are ways round this to, i found a small program called xinputemu360 it makes most pads think its an xbox pad and also fixes some probs with games where up goes down and down goes up if that makes sense hehe.

as for grid glad you got it working, also remeber to manulay set ya controls if they go funny again, i also had the game default back to keyboard for no reason.
