Oh wait i put full load on it and it has gone up to 18-20`c

your sensor is reading wrong, try going into your bios and seeing what is saying. Think of the logistics behind it, it can only be as cool as the air around you. And thats if the proc is not running. Add the heat that it produces and I am postive your proc is > 45C at load.

I run 2 big radz on a 1/2" system with fans everywhere and my q6600 @ 3.8 gets up to about 55C at full load

PC Probe reads the cpu temp from a sensor on the motherboard.

Please, use CoreTemp. It reads the temps strieght from the cores themselves.

just down loaded it, 1 min

wooo :D

^read post above. Pc probe reads the temp from a sensor on the motherboard. Coretemp is reading the correct temperature :)

Now as long as the load temp is under 60-65c you're fine ;)

Ok, back to the memory, have you tried at with the 4:5 divider yet? :)

I think it's a 5:6 divider, which doesn't work as well.

333 / 5 = 66.6
66.6 x 6 = 399.6

Hope that makes sence :)

There are loads of dividers to play with, but run some memory bechmarking softare, because not all work efficiently. I find either 1:1 or 4:5 are the ones to stick with if you can for the P35 motherboards, but it does vary from chipset to chipset.

1:1
5:6
4:5
3:4
2:3
1:2

I have gotten the best overclocking results with a 1:1 ratio. Anything else and the memory speeds get out of control.

The only Ratios it seems to let me do are are 1:1 at 400MHz & 4:5 at 333MHz

A Small question: If i were to buy DDR2 1066MHz Ram (rather that my 800MHz Ram) with a 1:1 Ratio and Overclock the Bus Speed to 533MHz with the x9 multiplier = Near 4.8GHz

Would this work or am i just dreaming?

only if the proc can handle it. That would allow you to get closer, good ram can allow for a higher OC. But the proc will only go so high. And remember, anywhere past 4ghz and your temps are gonna be out of control!

In theory, but the cpu will max out long before 4.8ghz. You may be able to push to 4.2ghz before the temperatures and voltages involved start getting risky.

Honestly though, your g.skill has a lot of headroom there, you just need to up the dram voltage. Those sticks will do 1000mhz or more quite comfortably.

Ok i was running 2.0-2.1V but it still just doesn't want to get past 840GHz, My motherboard natively supports up to DDR3 1333/DDR2 1066MHz I just don't get why its doing this to me :banghead:

i agree! I have G-Skill ddr2 1000 ram, I cant get it to 1000 for anything! I have a p5b deluxe, it only supports 800native - so im gonna credit it to that for right now

Yea mine says "the chipset officially supports the memory frequency up to DDR3 1066MHz/DDR2 800"But "Due to the tuning by ASUS exclusive technology, this motherboard natively supports up to DDR3 1333/DDR2 1066MHz", Doesn't seem to be using its exclusive technology to me lol

what FSB & Ratio are you running at?

So you have a similar problem to me, so is your ram just not going past 830-840MHz i well. i wonder if its some setting in the bios or if its the ram or the mobo. or its a sign from above telling me not to go any faster

Would it make any difference if i used Ram Slot 2 & 4 Rather than 1 & 3?
