The Corsair Carbide 678C is meant to refresh the silent line of cases of the brand with a new, modern take using updated internals. With plenty of liquid-cooling capabilities, a fan controller, and wide body, it checks off a lot of points for enthusiasts, which may end up taking away from its intended target audience: the silent type.

very biased review. Highly recommended for $200. Take a look at hardware canucks video, you'll see it is 100% correct in every term.

I'll wait for the high air flow version's review, if they make one.
To me this seems like a waste of space, both in purpose and literally as the internals need reworked as do the case dimensions.
Remove the drive cages and reduce the depth of the case.

Comparing noise levels of case for 6 HDDs in direct airflow (and expandable to 8 HDDs case) with 2 cases - one with 3 HDDs and another with 4 HDDs, 1st HDDs hidden behind mainwall from direct airflow and 2nd with all 4 HDDs hidden under PSU's longcover, both not nexpandable behind 3 and 4 HDDs - is incorrect in every term.
Every HDD caddy in frontal airflow gives some turbulent raise in noise levels, but drives would be better cooled.
So correct comparison would be with BeQuiet! 900 series with similar HDD caddies, but they all have very different roofs and they are bigger.
But yes, 678C looks slightly overpriced at the sales start.
