Sounds like an excellent setup for those who are interested in a good-performing but still cheap WC kit and are short on space

Very good cooler.

Pros

1. Frees up room around CPU area.
2. Cooling is superior to air cooling.
3. Easy to install.
4. Cost less than high end air coolers.
5. Well built.

Cons

1. Though it cools better than air coolers it is not as good as high end expensive liquid cooling systems.
2. Heat sink area is not lapped. It is solid copper and is flat but is not lapped.



I got mine off of ebay with bing cash back for around $70 delivered. Not a bad deal. Packaged very well in big box.



Best price I have found is $59.99 with MIR from ZZF. (not including Bing Cash back which is more money in savings)

Some people said that it's better than TRUE but HardOCP did a review and it is definitely not better. Again some said push pull config with Corsair H50 is better but they never test it against push pull TRUE. Any thought.

I guess to each his own... if you're limited on space (AKA me and my P180M) then the H50 would be better than any traditional air cooler. If you have high airflow and, a high tolerance for noise, and a roomy case then a Prolima (not TRUE ) would be the better option.

Or go budget performance and snag a Xiggy S1283 for 26.99 shipped before they became uber popular!

I'm definately interested to see more results from TPU users w/the H50, but like the Coolit solution that's similar, I don't expect it to be much better for my application with an old, toasty quad. I'll stick with my good old air cooler that's not too massive, but still plenty potent. But the H50 seems to look a little more promising that the Coolit solution, I'm still not 100% that it's worth the money...well that either of them are worth the money since both fit in a similar price range. Though size constraints aside, I've fit a xiggy inside some pretty tight cases with room to spare, including my Scythe Fan installed which I bet would do pretty good for the H50 if that's the route you go Kantastic.

I watched the movie of the review that HardOCP did and IMO the way that it was configured was not optimum.

For optimum the case has to have good airflow and have a high CFM fan pushing cool air from outside of the case to the radiator with the Corsair fan pulling air way from the radiator.

I'm experimenting with my configuration and right now I'm getting much better temps running Prime95 than HardOCP did.

Also in HardOCP test near the end of the test HardOCP stated that his temps began to increase to high 90 degrees celsius.

I have not experienced that at all. Maby HardOCP had a bad pump or it was receiving a poor 12 volt feed.



In this test I was running push pull with my larger Scythe Fan pushing from inside the case like an exhaust and the Corsair 120mm PWm fan pulling the air away from the radiator. Over 7 hours heat building asmall FFT test starting at 8k though 64k test.

Note that one of my cores had an error after 2 hours and quit working but the rest of the cores kept going till i stopped the test approaching 8 hours of testing.

Also note that i was running 1.52 volts to a Quad Core Q9550. This is a huge amount of heat inducing voltage for that core. The temps reflect that the Corsair H50 did a fanstastic job of transferring the heat from the CPU.

If set up right the Corsair H50 performs better than air coolers and clears up the space around the CPU area for chipset cooling mods and improved airflow.

One factor is that air heatsinks last like... decades whereas the pump on the H50 will probably die in like 3 years. :shadedshu

True. However hopefully by then this technology will advance and improved liquid coolers like the H50 will be available that outperform the H50 and have a longer life span and warranty.

I'm killing myself, the H50 arrives tomorrow. I'm not sure whether or not I should reject the package and have it sent back to Newegg because I'm REALLY liking the Xiggy Balder SD1283.

This is with the Scythe Kaze 120x120x38 pushing air from outside of the case through the radiator with the Corsair 120x120x25 pulling away from radiator into the case. This seems to the best configuartion which is similiar to the Corsair recommended setting since I am no longer using the rear case fan location as an exhaust but rather as an intake.

With Antec 900 case.

They probably sold out. They can still be found online. Do a good shopping search to find many other vendors selling Corsair H50.

O ok, it's gonna be a little while before i get one. I think is bull that it doesn't come with AMD bracket. How much are those?

For the AMD bracket, Email Corsair, they might do something for ya if you buy one... But, I'm not sure on that..
