Hi to everyone!
Temporary I'm occupied with custom cables. Situation is that I have RM850x which uses Type 4 pinout layout. So, main ATX cable that came is no problem because it is Type 4 as it must be, everything is clear about it and making custom ATX cable is not questionable but... About original PCi-e existing cables there are some doubts. First I saw that Type 4 layout pinouts doesn't match existing cables pinout which ones came with PSU and I found out that PCi-e cables as they are connected are Type 3. They worked normally but is it normal? Also found Corsair table where is written which PSU can go with which type of cables from Corsair and Type 4 can hold both Type 3 and Type 4 but only PCi-e. Someone with same PSU/issue?
When we are talking about PSU side of cable, Pin 8 is doubled and slot 4 empty. And this is as Type 3 is. And on Type 4 is another scheme - slot 2 empty and pin 5 doubled.
Main question is should I make custom cables from Type 3 pinout or Type 4 as they should be? Tnx
