The Cougar OmnyX aims to be the perfect chassis for flexible desk placement, whether on the left or right side. Thanks to a smart, functional design and the unique Omnidirectional Dynamic Flow System (ODF), positioning on either side of the desk is both simple and versatile.

For some reason these bald head case's never tickled my fancy. That thing needs to grow some hair, not spaghetti cables in plain sight. + I prefer the traditional method of exhausting hot air from the top.

Despite it's minor flaws I really like this case. Especially the white version! The versatility of it is very impressive. The drive rack is innovative! Allows for LOTS of storage. The recent trend of case makers including lot's of front panel USB is absolutely delightful! Love it!

Cougar has a winner here, especially for the $165 it seems to be listed for!

An interesting choice of orientation with surprisingly good to excellent cooling.

Very good cooling/noise !

I have no affection for glass display cases, but it's hard not to like this case and I'm well aware that plenty of people love the glass-tastic ARGBLED kool-aid.

Cooling looks good.
Internal cable-management looks good.
External cable-management looks good (not something that can be said for many cases that rotate the motherboard).
Flexibility in left or right-handed layouts is rare for cases, so bonus points for that.
The MSRP is reasonable, it's refreshing not be stung with premium pricing just because something is a little left-field.
GPU sag? What GPU sag?! :)

Even with stealth black hardware and no RGBLED, I feel this is going to make quite a handsome system on someone's desk, if they're into that....

I don mean to be picky but the MSRP should be listed on the first page among the poduct details. @W1zzard

Love it. I wish there was also a mATX version with 2x140mm fans in the top position instead of the 3x120mm.

All four pre-installed 160 mm ARGB fans are identical and as such pull air in from both sides. One side sports those inverse blades, so that the exterior of the case looks flawless, but the air is pulled out of the system. As each pair is mounted on a removable frame, you could swap them around easily if you want to reverse the overall airflow, so that the CPU gets the cool intake air instead.

Just for clarification, this was airflow for the thermal testing?

That looks correct - the left set of fans are definitely reverse-flow models in that photo where it sucks in from the hub side and exhausts on the impeller side.

This Cougar case has a decent design, I like it.

Question @Darksaber,

Is this case compatible with regular atx motherboards?

That's an answer you can look up.
Thus. Google search is our friend! Avoid the AI though.. LOL!

Nice case will wait for a sale under $100.

Maybe not, power button located as a weird spot. Should have put it in front, not on the side.

It should be 2x + 2x right?

I saw the review and my question was about the motherboards that don´t have the connectors on the back´s pcb.
In the official website they advertise the case with the classic atx motherboard, but without cables on renderings.
From my perspective, it seems that´s not enough space for cable management, because of vertical fans.
I guess they didn´t drop this feature, my two cents.
A nice case and not a copycat.:toast:

What was that old silverstone or inwin case that did this? I cant even remotely remember but someone knows what im talking about by that alone.
This feels like a well executed modern take on that design and i think its a good way for cougar to get some more positive market presence.
They've pretty much got this in the bag for their price target, other than that you really only see this design with a reasonable feature set in real fancy stuff like the Silverstone Alta, which is just stupid expensive, this gets the design into a wider audience with that more accessible price tag.

And then in turn doing that maybe people will look at cougar as doing more than bottom tier decade outdated matx cases made of the worlds thinnest secc steel panels.

Ah, I see. I don't think this case supports the rear facing power jacks on motherboards. Doesn't look like it at first glance..
