Hi recently my heatsink/fan went out on my computer. I was planning on buying a new one anyway due to the fact I upgraded my processor from a dual core to a quad and needed a better cooling system.

This is my board here: http://ca.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3598#ov

My tower is a mini atx tower. So not much room could fit a little more then the stock fan/heatsink maybe its the intel stock one.

I need a fan/heatsink thats low profile obviously for LGA 775.

These are a few pics of my comp:

I am sure the heatsink did not go out but the fan did. You can reolace the fan. I am sure a member here has a fan that fits your heatsink.... If you need an inexpensive replacement, look at the Hyper 212+ EVO. If that won't fit, Scythe has some lo profile heatsinks.

well

Yes however the stock fan is not keeping my quad core cool. It was fine when it was a dual core. I now am running a 125w intel q6600 processor. Sorry neglected to add that.

Noctua also makes a few that may fit in your case. Scythe his hard to find in the US due to no distribution. I built a HTPC is a small case. I will try to find the cooler I used. Hold on.

Looks like you don't have a lot of clearance for a full air cooler. You may want to look at this. Coolermaster also makes some low profile coolers

I am in Canada but I buy from the US frequently if I need to. I like the look of the scythe.....researching now. Thanks for the suggestions will also look up Noctua.

As for case side off yes I could if the fan worked. LOL besides its the push pin sucky connectors one is broken so thats not good.

Don't run wih the side of case off...... Go low profile. The only bad thing about low profile coolers is they don't cool as well as full size air coolers. Whatever you choose, make sure the are LGA775 compliant.

Hmmmm if it worked with lga775

I am actually thinking of maybe moving the whole build into a mid tower so I can put a full size cooling system in. Just came to me that that might be the best idea anyway and then I can use my mini atx case for a future build of another kind.

Exuse me for that one, looked too fast :)
If you're planning to move your system to a midi tower, i would defenetly go with the hyper 212 evo drdeathx mentioned, great cooler for the price.

LOL Figured I know I read posts fast sometimes too.:)

Yeah I am thinking that might be the way to go. :) Then I can play with building something in the micro atx tower when I got more time. LOL

Given your extremely limited space your best option would be to do some case modding and fit a side fan directly positioned over the CPU cooler.
