CPU or GPU?

Hi there!
Well I have a big problem trying to decide which laptop to buy. The laptop is the same but with different configuration between gpu and cpu.
Ryzen 5 5600h and rtx 3070
Ryzen 7 5800h and rtx 3060
Which one of those is better? The only way I will use my laptop in heavy ways is when gaming, just that, the rest of the time I'll use it for common things.
The reason I doubt it is because I want it to last at last 5 years. ¿Will 6 cores be enough with that 3070 or 8 cores with 3060 is better option for a laptop which should last many years?

the 5600h is a 6 core 12 processing thread CPU, 12 processing threads will be plenty for the next 4-5 years IMHO.

So long as it isn't a very low TDP model 5600H laptop, that's the one I'd pick.

The 5800H would only make sense if paired with a higher end GPU. Even if games do start taking more cores, the RTX 3060 mobile isn't powerful enough to need all 6 of those cores regardless.
 
maybe you could consider an intel 11th gen based laptop, they all will come with thunderbolt 4 port allowing you to connect an external gpu.. later on
if you get an 8core i7... paired with a gpu later it shouldn't bottleneck the gpu..
while amd laptop's doesnt have thunderbolt 4 displays...

just my 2 cents.... im currently also looking at a gaming laptop...

The problem is that my budget is limited jaja Those laptops I said cost around 1000€, 140€ more the option with the 3070. I've been looking for many weeks and those are the best options I've seen
 
the one with the 3070 gpu ,i wouldnt worry about cpu cores 6/12 is cool enough for most AAA games and will be for a good while yet bud.

Yeah i would go for 5600H + 3070 for extra GPU grunt when you want to connect to an external 1440p/2160p display later.
 
I agree with the majority here. Because you said this will be used for heavy gaming, "IF" those were my only two choices, would go for the laptop with the better GPU, the RTX 3070.

Having said that, because you said this will be used for heavy gaming, if I had my choice, I would never go for any laptop! Instead, I would go for a PC with a quality mid-tower case so I don't have to worry about proprietary components, and perhaps more importantly, the highly restrictive, tiny laptop case that will constantly struggle, and often fail to provide adequate cooling.

No Shite Sherlock. Of course the 8 core 5800h is going to faster than the 6 core 5600H. That's not the question, and two laptops the OP has to choose from DO NOT have the same GPU. The OP has a choice of a laptop with a 5600h paired with a RTX 3070, or a laptop with a 5800h paired with a RTX 3060. The GPU performance difference is why everyone here is suggesting getting the 5600h model,. The 5600h CPU is more likely to be adequate for AAA games in 5 years than the RTX 3060 is. Especially considering it's a RTX 3060 mobile GPU, which is not the same as a RTX 3060 video card. If this was a PC that would allow a future GPU upgrade, I'd opt for the faster CPU, but since this is a non-upgradeable laptop, get the better graphics.

The choice is obvious 3070 over 3060 if that's what the OP is concerned about.
