40c is no temp at all a lot of rigs run higher than that on idle. dont worry about it infact you should be happy with it bro.

Just curious, what is your average temp reading under normal circumstance? Has it ever been above 40C before? Regardless, as @xtreemchaos & @Anwar.Shiekh said, those temp is still good. CPU could handle temps more than twice that hot for longer periods of time. Even my desktop CPU average reading under heavy load runs normally between 70C to 80C & it is still kicking even after a decade.
40C is about body temperature, even 60C is fine.
Actually, body temp is normally between 32C to 36C. Anything 40C or above just indicates that person has a fever.

40 °C (104 °F) – Fainting, dehydration, weakness, vomiting, headache, breathlessness and dizziness may occur as well as profuse sweating. Starts to be life-threatening.

I believe those happen after the 44C mark but whats a 4C difference to a CPU.
Oh hey, as I'm tying this, my CPU is at 77C average.

It wo be perfectly normal idle temps depending on ambient temps. Load temps are 50-65+ range on average but load temps can vary greatly depending on so many factors. High end Intel will run to 100C before throttle/protections kick in AMD will at 95C

Then you're fine. Just keep the fans clean with dust blower. Again, CPU could withstand very high temp but if it does go above 50C then it's a sign of issue somewhere.

Honestly, I don't want it to go that low. It keeps me somewhat warm during most cold nights without resorting to heaters or thicker clothing.

Congrats, it's a total loss. Now you'll be out of pocket for a new replacement computer to the tune of $1800.

Those are actually damn good temperatures

my cooler got loud i had to turn off my pc now its back to 33c is this normal or a sign my cpu or cooler is going bad?
It could of been air bubbles in the pump that made it sound loud, and the temperature change if no coolant was circulating.

I'm guessing 40c might be the coolant temp in that 7600k with a 120mm aio, even if a fat one. I doubt that is CPU temp.

If looking in ICUE, make sure it's not coolant. Id be interested to see a screen shot.
