Cross Flashing Talk Talk Router to D Link ?

Hi need some info and possible Help

I Have a Spare Talk Talk Modem/Router ( Badged D-Link DSL-3782) and would like to flash it to the Original D-Link Firmware.
Have Downloaded the Firmware from the D-Link Site and when trying to upgrade the modem / Router firmware i get a file not reconcised message.
The D-Link firmware has a .bin extention . what file extension should i change it too before Flashing ? or should i go the Alternate firmware route

If you can find alt firmware, go for it. I was looking, and it seems that unit is abandonware.
