CrossFire doesn't work

What you had was the cooler back plate grounding out on one of the circuits on the mother board.

Always make sure your cooler back plate is not touching anything on the mother board when installing.

I have had to put cardboard in between them on occasion to stop this from happening.

You misunderstood me. It's not my cooler's back plate that was convexed, it' s CPU SOCKET'S back plate. That's the point. And I did make sure my cooler's back plate is not touching ANY contacts on the motherboard when installing. There is only one contact that gets under my cooler's back plate and it wasn't touching it but I still trimmed it a bit.
