Crossfire not working?

That's the part where the flat four pin connector usually colored white connects, correct? No, I don't have a place for that connection on my motherboard.

I would buy a PSU from like bestbuy then test with that and see if the results are the same (30 day return policy same as cash!!!)

New PSU, same problem. Worked when I booted up for the first time with the new PSU but by the next boot it was back at half the frame rate.

I am at a loss on where to go from here, Do you have any friends local that have a crossfire mobo that you can try your cards in? I am starting to think its a mastercard issue but please try your cards in some one's crossfire mobo if same issue RMA. I doubt its the slave card but I guess its possible.

Oh ya I almost for got about this one; Do you have more than one monitor hooked up?If so remove the monitor that is not crossfire .

I have had some issues with my X1800 Crossfire setup that were always cured with a thorough cleaning of the drivers in safe mode. Also, get a registry cleaner and clean it after you remove the drivers. This is almost certainly a driver issue and they can be a pain in the friggin ass to fix. I had issues 4 times and had to do a fresh install once to get everything happy again. My problems were always the result of overly aggressive overclocking too. By chance were you pushing them too hard?

I have one monitor to answer the first question.

To answer the second, yes I am overclocking, I have a floor fan blowing into the case so temperatures are usually lower. When I boot I have the cards run at stock speeds, then I use ATI Tool to load my OC profile if I am getting a full frame rate.

Let me try removing the drivers in safe mode and using a registry cleaner.

I am at a loss here. Nothing seems to be working. Any other ideas?

Well, I finally got it working. I'm not sure what I did, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers a bunch of times. But boot after boot my FPS are consistently where they should be.

Thanks for your help, it is greatly appreciated.

Qucik update FYI. Everything is still working fine. I think I narrowed the problem down to ATI Tool or the drivers that ATI Tool installed. I uninstalled ATI Tool, then my video drivers and reinstalled my video drivers but not ATI Tool and everything worked. Seems to be an issue with ATI Tool and Crossfire FYI.
