This board is based on the NVidia NForce 780a SLI chipset, comes with all the stuff ASUS includes with its ROG line of boards, supports 3-way SLI at PCI-E 2.0 x8, x8, x8 ; 2-way at x16, x16.

Oh, and to use a B3 Phenom, you don't need a BIOS update, B3 Phenom and Toliman are supported by initial BIOS.

sexy new board but i dont see it worth the upgrade from the old crosshair or even the m2n32sli 590 board especially if you dont plan on using 3way sli. $300 thats just too much. Also hasnt the 780 been replaced by the 790?

780 hasn't been replaced by 790 because you're forgetting, it's AMD platform, it's 780a, not 780i (a = AMD, i = Intel).
Nforce 780a is the flagship NVidia chipset for AMD at the moment, it's the highest NVidia has to offer for AMD platform.
There's no DDR3 for AMD anyway.
