My Corsair Force 3 120GB (Sandforce SF 2200 on Intel AHCI SATA 6GB/s) on my ASRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 had crappy results in HDTune (like 180-300MB/s) but it showed normal results in ATTO (500ish MB/s, in-line with Corsair's benchmarks). I was also using HDTune 5.00, maybe that version sucks for SSDs or something.

That's a good point. I think you should try a few benchmarks before deciding whether or not an SSD has poor performance. I just use ATTO, but now that you've mentioned it, I might give CrystalDisk and HD Tune a go as well. Whynot, compare the results, get the average, then base your conclusion off that ;)
