The Das Keyboard Prime 13 is Das Keyboard acknowledging that some people want the excellent build quality of their flagship products at a lower price point. Add on back-lighting, a USB pass-through instead of a hub, retain the Cherry MX switches and the Prime 13 offers an option worth looking into.

My perfect keyboard will be a Das Professional with blue switch and white background lighting. Nice and clean.

Oh snap. WTH is wrong with the obsession of "cloud computing" and ugly ass RGB?

Make some nice beautiful WHITE background lit keyboard is too hard it seems.

To be fair, you can ignore the cloud computing feature and use the RGB backlighting to get it white (or as white as can be, anyway). But then you will be paying a lot for features you will not use.

the obsession of "cloud computing"
Baffling obsession with loosing your settings when your operating system or the system drive goes fubar ... now your peripheral devices remember in what color to blink even if you reinstall windows, provided you remember the damn account credentials, which you don't because it was 3 years ago when you bought the damn thing, so you go through password recovery process cursing yourself for not choosing connect with facebook 3 years ago ... essentially, its pain in the ass

A decent keyboard. I would probably have bought this if it had blue switches and blue backlighting.

An interesting note on this- multiple keyboard companies did market research on the color of backlighting and the overwhelming majority preferred blue or red for gaming/browsing in the night whereas the same set preferred white for working during the day and night. This is why you see so many gaming keyboards come with blue or red backlighting, if not RGB.

Exactly. I game a lot at night on weekends and my man cave tends to be dimly lit during the evening as well.

Which is why you should use a password manager. Lastpass is now free across all platforms.

This is beautifull.
I like this type of keyboard without RGB.
Anyway owners could expect at least 10 years of nice working if they keep clean.
Usually mechanical keyboards last even longer.
mechanical keyboard TKL + Logitech mouse that's my gaming tools.
Always Logitech mouse, now they have and great keyboards but I still think that Deck and Filco could last longer.

If someone ask me White Backlight + Cherry MX Clear.

Agreed for pwd managers although you missed the point because I was trying to illustrate a hypothetical scenario where pulling your settings from the cloud is slower then setting the device up from scratch ... and also, that goes for everything except carefully prepared keyboard macros for different games
