Hi,

Just swapped my MOBO to a M3A79-T DELUXE and my Corsair PC2-6400 is reported as 400Mhz instead of 1066 ???

I have it set in the BIOS as 1067 (no 1066 option) and the timings to auto.

Everytime I try and manually set the timings 5-5-5-15-22-2T at 2.10 volts, system crashes:banghead:

So, anyone else have this issue because a the moment CPU-Z is showing:

5-7-7-24-31 2T Ganged

Runs ok, but I paid for 5-5-5

What do I do ?

Thanks,

cpu z screenie plz

How does one do that ?

is it 2x2GB sticks or 4x1GB sticks

sounds like a bios setting. Have you looked there?

Should look like this

2x2gig

Had to use slots 3 and 4 because of the cooler gettingin the way.

Just updated BIOS to 1001 and here's more pics.

Look at the temps too ???

Seem a bit high compared to the M3N-HT DELUXE SLI board i was using.

On full load the CPU goes to 5.5c when clocked at 3.6G

Not too bad I surpose, but the mem is doing m head in.:banghead:

Should i set the mem to Ganged or unganged ????

Some people sugest ganged is better?

set it to unganged and i bet it will work with rated timings

Will it impact performance when set to ungangged ??

Changed mem to ungangged

Here's result.

Here´s the BIOS settings (1001)

Advanced->JumperFree Configuration->
AI Overclocking=Manual
Memory Configuration->
DRAM Ganged Mode=Auto (makes them go unganged)->
DRAM Timing Configuration->
Memory Clock Mode=Manual->
Memclock Value=1067

That should do it!

Will try later.

May have to check the cooler too. i cleaned it with TIM remover and applied AC Mx-2 tim.

On my M3N-HT DELUXE i was idle at 3.8c

Now I'm idle at 41+
Load 55c

Might have to go back to my 4 pin Zalman 9700LED so I ca increase the CPU cooler speed.

Idle = nothing going on apart from Vista Loaded with apps in task bar. No CPU intensive apps running

38c idle
55-58c on load (running a game or bench mark)

I live in the UK mate, its rarley warm outside.lol

Now on my M3A79-T DELUXE its

42.4c

Corsair Dominator 1066 run at DDR2-800 (400mhz each) unless you up the voltage to 2.1/2.2V

Voltage set to 2.10v

And like I say, its running at 1067 ganged or unganged its just missing the timings I had on my old M3N-HT DELUXE.

????????????????

Well it depends on what model you have. Their are two revisions; one that needs 2.1 and one that needs 2.2. Try 2.2v It wont hurt.

All sorted NOW :D

I moved the memory into slots 1,3 and changed back to my Zalman 9700 cooler ~(4pin)
and not only have I controlled the temps on this thing, but AOD has setup the correct timings.

Look at the attached file.:):):)

This board is NOW officially better than my M3N-HT DELUXE (to me anyway).

I've uninstalled PC-Probe because it was telling me fibs and I did not notice the Fan Controller page in AOD. Its much better than PC-Probe as I have my fans set at 40% which curently cooling my 940BE 3.6G Oc on full load at 51.8c.

Ive nocked off 6c in idle and under load, so I'm a happy bunny.

Dont get me wrong guys, the M3N-HT DELUXE is a very nice sli board, but I love having total control over my board that the AOD provides.

Its a shame know one has come up with a Nvidia version to better nvtune.

I'm happy now.

Onto the next post .............:laugh:

Thanks to everyone for ther input.

See attached for details.:D
