I just ordered this monitor, and I'm wondering if anyone here has it? How do you like it?

i have the 2707WFP and love it.

that one you got i researched when i was looking at buying, and it rated good overall, true-colour reproduction let it down a little in reviews, and folks said for photo work it would not be there first choice (actually that was said of most Dell's)

The HC revision was reported as making a positive improvement over the original panels.

the 2407wfp did have a number of ghosting/banding issues i believe, hence the fairly high number of Revisions, it was reported that Dell used to have some sort of exchange thing available, not sure how true that was though.

overall, i am sure you will be very very pleased with it :) ... how much did it cost?

With the tax, and extended five year warranty it came to a total of 779.

The only bonus was I had a 25 dollar gift card, and got free over night shipping.

How is the monitor for movies, and games?

i dont play games really, so any views i gave you on that would be useless as i dont have any comparisons to base them on.

for movies the 27" version i have is stunning, and i believe from when i was doing my research so is the 24" version :) especially with that added HC spec yours will have. HD is lovely :)

your price i assume was in dollars and direct from dell with the 3 (or is it 5 year?) warranty, seems like an ok price, the price on the 24" model was fluctuating all over the place when i was looking to buy, so much so that even the sellers on fleabay where having trouble keeping up !

i am in the uk, so you have to remember we ALWAYS get shafted on prices here, and even at todays exchange rate, i dont think i can get that at that price, when the exchange rate was more in your favour we were getting right royally shafted on the prices of these monitors.

when i bought mine, they were retailing on the Dell site for a little over £1000 for the 2707WFP (price check today reveals £974) - i bought mine off fleabay, still boxed and never used, service tag indicated a little under 3 years left on warranty, and i paid £580 (no postage as i went and collected it - didnt trust delivery guys with something like this, and also didnt like the idea of handing over that much cash until i had the thing in my hands :p) .... but i cant behappier with it, for what was maybe 100 to 150 more than the 24" version i got this monster :p

also if i am not mistaken, unlike the 30" versions which need a dual DVI setup, the 24 + 27" versions dont, so that is one major advantage for many users

bet you cant wait til it arrives huh :D

I have one of the original versions of the Dell 30".

I think I can safely say that, uless there is something wrong with the monitor that you receive, you will love this monitor.

You do not list your system specs so I do not know what you currently have, but if it is a 19" or something you will find a large widescreen to be awesome.

Anything under a 30 inch will require a GC that has a DVI-D (dual link) output to run at 1900x1200. All good GC have a DVI-D output. The 30 inch monitor requires two DVI-D outputs to run at 2560x1600

Enjoy your new monitor !! :toast:

I am running my 30" at 2560 x 1600. It is the native (and maximum) resolution of the monitor.
I am not sure what you mean by your question, "how do you find it".

by "how do you find it" i was meaning for everyday use, i did read somewhere that some people found that native resolution was somewhat hard on the eyes as things could be a little small....... so it was just a general, how do you like it sort of question, nothing specific

ps. love that sig of yours, that is very true for me too, one of these days they will invent a keyboard that knows what i want to type no matter what my fingers do :p

All I can say that after owning a 30" monitor, I will never be happy with anything smaller.
Given the size of the monitor, the fonts display fine (and I am old and wear bifocals) :D

A friend of mine who always thought that such a large monitor would be difficult to use and undesirable had only one thing to say when he saw it. "Daaaaamn...."

I wanted to go with a projector but I cannot find on with high enough resolution to suit my taste (that does not cost more than my house :D )

I was a little upset because I had been looking at this monitor for over a month waiting for a sale of some sort to appear. Instead at the beginning of the week the price actually went up 30 dollars. I figured since it was on back order 3-5 weeks it was enough, and I just bought it.

The reason why my specs aren't listed is because I haven't built my computer yet. When it arrives I'll probably be using it for my 360/movies until I can finally finish my computer when the 9800 series of GPUs launch in February.

Really looking forward to seeing how this looks with my new PC though. :)

Bomb, IF you put your general location in your profile you will get much more information based on where you are for products.

Not required, but it helps. I wish everyone would at least post their country so we can be of more help.
