I have a D-Link DGL-4500. I have a couple computers and my Xbox. The problem is I seem to have to reset the router (unplug for 10-20 seconds) a lot because the internet on my computer will not work. It says there is a connection but the webpage times out. I know the internet connection is good because my Xbox live is working just fine. Could this be related to any port forwarding or gamer fuel settings on the router to where it cuts off the internet to the computer? I have played with these a bit. I am definitely not a pro at network settings so some of the router features are confusing to me and seem redundant. Like making a game rule or a filter, and so on. Any advise of help would be great.

Thanks.

I also have vonage for a land line so I don't know if that messes with it at all.

I assume you mean wireless that's dropping? If so, I have seen and had those issues with several wireless routers. I always end up throwing them away and getting a new one (no more issue) with wireless routers for home use being so cheap, I don't find the hassle worth it, it could be on its way to wireless router cemetery.

Actually my main PC in plugged directly into the router and the internet stops working as well as PCs that are connected wireless. My xbox is connected wireless and there is not drop at app. I am wondering if it was to do with a rule I have setup on the router to give the xbox priority. But it doesn't make sense that it would completely cut off the other devices.

Might've limited it so severely that it couldn't get a connection to the server, and therefore timed out.
