Different RAM speeds

Just a quick question..is it possible to run these sticks of RAM together?:

2xCorsairXMS2 667MHz CL4 1GB (2GB total)
2xGeil 800MHz CL5 1GB(2GB total)

I'm surprised no answers yet...

Depends on the lowest capable speed and latency of the ram, as they will all be running at the same speed... you may need to test each set individually to find the highest speed and lowest latency of each, and set your bios to the weakest of each. Playing around with voltages will help. You may run into SPD issues.

It will also depend on your motherboard.

Your ram will run as fast as it's slowest module. In other words, it will all run at 667mhz unless you start overclocking.

RAM always runs at it's slowest speed. so mismatching is OK but your ram is slower.

you would be better off just using the geil stuff on its own because then you know the corsair isnt going to hold you back for overclocking id sell the corsair and get some more geil ram and have 4gb like that

try ocing the corsair stuff to 800mhz. It should be able to do it as its cas 4. try 2v and cas 5. If it does then just use those settings paired with the other ram and run 4gb at 800mhz.

If it doesn't do 800 then I personally would probably get rid of it and keep the geil stuff. Much better ram imo.

The corsair overclocks to 800MHz, so I think I'll OC and stick the Geil in.
