Basically when you pick the mouse up and move it the cursor doesn't move around too. With this being a lower DPI mouse, it's a pretty decent feature. It's really hard to move the cursor without the mouse actually being on a surface; with other mice it can be different.
 
between the heaton and the g-tf, which one feels smoother? mainly for gaming
