No scam, it's as you said a budget monitor. It's a TN panel and only full HD. It has some input lag and poor contrast.

Don't know anything about the Lenovo, but I have the Acer GN246HL. No complaints. It doesn't have freesync or anything, but it's a nice budget 144hz monitor. Image quality is great for 1080p, brightness good, it can even do ULMB at 120hz. But I'm not that picky about image honestly (which is apparent since I'm using a 1080p monitor) I just wanted high framerates for a good price, with acceptable image quality. The Acer more than delivers that.

No im not saying about budget. I just want a reason to title a product, what is sense behind 144hz and freesync as well. Me if product have 144hz i wont even look on free sync. But here its written, whats the logic behind. That’s what i wanted to know. Im not mad who want to compare pizza with water.

Yea correct me if im wrong(which i can be because im not an expert), freesync is syncing the fps to 60hz without any software in operating system, this sync operation done by chip inside monitor.
But i stilll have doubt does freesync means to 60 fps?
If its true then this is what i made thread for,
Why its giving offer to sync to 60fps if its 144fps monitor.

yes if you have an AMD card. G-Sync is Nvidia version for monitors, and Nvidia charges a premium to install it on monitors which is passed onto consumers.

The Acer you linked is around $200 US, and is 144hz. So... yes.

Both Freesync and G-Sync are the same in this respect ...

-G-Sync provides adaptive sync starting at 30 fps .... and it's impact in s quite significant up thru 60 fps.... while it still "works" above 60, after 70 fps it's impact is much less significant
-FreeSync provides adaptive synch starting at 40 fps .... and it's impact in s quite significant up thru 60 fps.... while it still "works" above 60, after 70 fps it's impact is much less significant

Where they differ is above 60-70 fps..... G-Sync provides a Motion Blur reduction technology called ULMB, if your card is pushing 70 - 144 fps in games, then with G-Sync you have the option of switching to ULMB. Freesync has no such option. To my eyes, getting a 144 hz monitor without any MBR technology is a waste.

At 1080p, we recommend the Asus VG248QE (usally around $250) or th BenQ equivalent which, while neither G-Sync nor Freesynch provides Motion Blur reduction using the toastystrobelight utility

Compatible monitors are listed here:

Its so expensive in india, more than 300$
Edit. My bad sorry. Hell yea acer one is cheaper. Bezels gives oldish look which make sense because of price.
Any more good budget gaming monitor with less bezels. Good looking too.

They are basically identical, except the Acer is 1ms faster average response time, and the Lenovo has slightly higher contrast and brightness. The Acer also has slightly higher pixel density, but is .5 inches smaller.

(that being said, the brightness and contrast of the Acer are already great for a gaming monitor.)

So if the bezels are what's important for you, then it's bezels vs 1ms faster response time. The lenovo has better bezels, the Acer has 1ms faster response time.

The true color to color average response time of that monitor is around 3.5ms. The Acer's true color to color average response time is around 2.5ms.

Fair point, but I was referring to actual tested specs, not what's on the box for those two.

Most reviews simply report what is on the box and don't have the equipment to accurately test it .... from my PoV, I don't know that it's true until I see it on TFT central. Can you provide a link to the test which produced this data ? The reason I ask, is that I have never seen a test match the product sheets.

https://www.monitornerds.com/acer-gn246hl-144hz-monitor-review-2016/
• Refresh rate: 144Hz
• Response Time: 5 ms

I searched with both Yahoo and Google and didn't find much other than folks preprinting the product sheet data and some coming up with number from who knows where. Did find many reddit threads from unhappy users. But if there's detailed review with actual test results I'd certainly like to read it.

I'm also not familiar with the term "true color" response time. Typically, monitors are tested to G2G (gray to gray) definition or the ISO (black - white - black) standard.

http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/response_time.htm

The panel manufacturer reports the following for the Acer panel:

Minimum Response Time: 1 ms
Average Response Time: 4 ms
Maximum Response Time: 10 ms

I didn't say "true color" response time. I said True "color to color" response time. Color to color, as opposed to Gray to gray. (CtC is a more realistic and useful metric than GtG IMO, as a monitor's GtG can be sometimes significantly faster than CtC, which... who uses grayscale while gaming?)

I'm curious why you ask me for test data, but link a monitornerds article with not a single test cited but... ok.

I'll admit I was quoting the Acer's tested spec from memory of a prior review that actually did the tests, from when I was looking at buying it, and I don't have a link. But here's one that pretty well jives (actually, at 144hz mode, they quote better than what I gave it.) It's in German, but whatever. Google Translate.
