I had a couple of Palit graphics cards 8-10 years ago, but I don't see much from them these days. Do they still make decent cards? I have an opportunity to grab a 2070 from them, but I don't want to buy it if they are now garbage, especially at today's inflated prices.

i havent had any trouble with them. they always seem to be a good go to brand.

palit cards are even faster than asus rog stric oc in my experience. I used to run 1080 ti sli. my palit card scored better on heaven uniengine bench.

The one time I bought Palit, a GTX 1080, it wasn't exactly reliable. The card started glitching really intermittently, including causing hangs on boot and eventually failed completely - no picture. An RMA replacement barely worked at all, so I got a refund. I'd already heard about lots of things like this on TPU about Palit before I bought it, so I'd had enough and won't be buying this brand again.

You might get lucky and buy a good one, but why chance it? Clearly, their quality control isn't as good as other brands. On the other hand, my MSI cards have been really great, so can recommend them.

I had one palit card several years ago but had no issues with it. As whole I see little complaints about them compared to the other AIB partners.

Over here in Singapore, not only Zotac and Palit are the cheapest they are also the brands with a 5 year warranty instead of the standard 3 year.

What happened to palit guy? and what happened to the frog?

As for their cards they are ok, they are usually just reference designs (not founders, just nvidias suggested vrm etc spec) as they save the fancy stuff for kfa2/galax

I think they only have 2 year warranty in europe, not sure about the US

I bought a 1070 Gamerock and a Gigabyte 1070 Aorus during the first mining craze. I disassembled them both and the quality difference is night and day. The Gamerock is a 3 slot card, had 2 bios and 2 fans and large Heatpipes. It runs very cool and silent. The Aorus was a 3 slot card, had a single bios, fewer and thinner heatpipes and 3 fans. It runs very hot despite having the same dimensions. The Aorus looks nice but it focused more on aesthetics and not function. The third slot was just because of the plastic shroud and it has shorter heatsink fins.

From that point, I skipped Gigabyte when buying cards. I would have gotten a Palit 3080 if I could buy one but got at these times, you just get what card you can.
