As above.

Say if I install USB key (errr..., for Vista's Ready Boost) via USB hub, does it make that port slower than if I install without USB hub.

I know, I can put it on empty slot behind my pc, but I like to see it blinking when data access happen on the usb key.

Thank you in advance.

Arto.

It will most likely slow it down enough that you can't use Ready Boost. Vista judges whether a drive can do ready boost by it's random access times. So putting it in the hub will likely increase your latencies, and hurt your random access times.

Thank you. My thought too. I am now rearrange the USB connection.

USB key for Ready boost now got direct USB port (not via USB hub port) to PC.

Thanks!
