Doom, Vulkan API is AMAZING...but how to screenshot?

Steam hasn't fixed it yet...is there any solid way of getting a screenshot in Vulkan?
My game always crashes when I try to take a screenshot with the steam overlay...then i have to log out and log back in..

Um amazing yea that it's a good 30fps slower in opengl is using same map and settings.

Uh the old fashioned way hit "print screen", "prnt scrn", ""prt scr" or however it appears on your keyboard and then paste(ctrl+V) it into paint.

HDMI capture card

even a cheap one gets you 30 screenshots a second!

(no really, i'm genuinely not sure. DX12/vulkan will cause issues with overlays and screenshots til things are sorted out)

afterburner seems to be able to take screenshots in doom in vulkan mode.

Afterburner. Works everywhere and lets you set a button too. I use the NUMPAD - for it, never have conflicts anywhere.

I can't get RTSS, Afterburner, or Fraps to work in Doom for an FPS counter or screenshots. I didn't test them enough to see if they made it any more freeze or crash prone, but the main problem is I can't even get any onscreen display to show. And yes, I'm playing in Vulkan API mode.

Doom has an FPS counter built in to the game you can use.

I'm aware of that, but it doesn't help for screenshots, and I was just curious as to how those using Afterburner are getting it to work.

Linus had a bizarre experience where he got Fraps FPS counter under Vulkan, even though he shouldn't be able to do that XD

Sometimes, in Witcher 3 i can't take screenshots. What i do is show stats (fps, gpu% and other stats i have set up) than hide them & take screenshot. it's like Afterburner goes into idle and does not work.
Also try setting RivaTuner to medium priority or high ,for that matter. Not in task manager,in the actual program, on the first page,where you set font size for display etc

Any idea if NVIDIA Experience can capture screenshots? Considering they have full driver control, they could capture the image right before it leaves for monitor output, meaning it doesn't even matter what API game is using, it would be capturing raw image in framebuffer. Haven't tried it though...

I think since you have the 480, the newer technology translates better in certain programs.
@Frag Maniac Has a 7970 and I have an R9 290. Most people having the same problems have these gen AMD cards.
AMD has stated that it is not a driver issue...I'm not sure if that is entirely true since other programs other than Steam are having a problem taking screenshots in Vulkan API...
I use Sapphire Trixx to OC my card. I will try using Afterburner and see if I can take screenshots with that since you are claiming it works.

Yeah that would make sense, but again, I can't even get any overlay to show in Doom on Vulkan, not Fraps, Afterburner, or RTSS. I know it's not my PC or those tools either, because they work in other games.
