Downsides of using a PCI x16 riser card?

I wouldn't think there would be much of a downside. It probably adds a little latency to the bus, but nothing that would actually affect anything.

Sweet. Thats what I assumed, just checking.
I never even thought these existed, I remember ram extension cards about six years ago but after a random Google search I was pleasantly surprised.
 
Compaq and HP ( plus a few others ) have there own but i guess there the same kinda thing but shared slots.
 
Kinda expensive if you ask me.
