Anyone set up a DS3 raid controller? I cant get mine to work properly.. I load the driver from my mobo cd to a usb device it installs windows.. but than it wont work and asks for drivers again :confused:

I'm going to look into flashing my mobos bios (update it to the latest one) from dos.. when I get the energy/concentration power.. been backing up my data/working on this for the whole day :S


Edit: anyone think updating my bios would help me get this thing working please tell me lol, I dont want the troble of figureing out how to flash my bios from dos when I dont need to.. I beleive I have a rev.1 DS3 with stock bios thats been working great.. so no need to risk flash/updating it.


Edit: I have the latest drivers (think the ones on disk were ok with Vista anyway), and still no go.. when I start it asks me if I want to start windows in safe mode and than buggers out.. I tried repairing with the vista dvd but it just seems the raid drivers dont seem to stick :shadedshu :shadedshu :shadedshu :S I have to load them from my usb device when repairing windows..

Have you actually created the RAID array in BIOS before you went to install Windows?
 
yeah I have it shows me my raided 640gb of drive but In vista it dont see it when instaling even when I tried just 1 drive it didnt work.. I disabled raid and than the drive was visable as a single 591gb drive :S donno why guess I should of formated my drives for 1 to work.. but I want raid.
 
Your drive comes up as 591GB because thats just the way it is. It wont read as a full 640GB.

My 500GB only reads as like 450GB...
 
ok heres where I see somthing wrong, when going to install the drivers they dont actually install.. it says

Microsoft Windows

Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically.

meh Im using the latest drivers, when loading them off my ipod/usb device it loads them and than sees my raided hds as one 591gb drive. with vista on it.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:


ANYONE using a ds3 or DQ6 with raid? and Vista?

I remember reading a while back that the vista install disks Don't 'really' see usb drives from the setup and don't install the drivers prop.. tried it 2/3 times always seem to end up hooking up the floopy drive:banghead: .... but only on Asus MB's....
 
I'll have to wait until 2morrow and recive my second dvd drive that way I can just have my raid drivers on that and the vista dvd in the other dvd drive? would that work?

It'll be nice to finalize my build lol. I think I've waited long enough to "complete" this build... went on a 4 month vacation to Brazil back in December... had rma some case parts so that held things up too.. ohwell getting there now. :) Thanks for the tip man I was dead stuck.

actually i think you can swap the disks when it asks for the drivers then re insert the vista dvd
 
woot cool well I'll have to set this up sometime this week or nexted weeked or something... than organizing the cables so I can post my rig on tpu.. even though it has no "real"mods, as of yet.. I plan on painting the inside a bit because I dont like the aluminum dvd drive and bar going across my window (almost said screen lol).

I must sleep now already depriving myself, but just had a great game of COH :). Vista is being a hog atm though, havent tweaked it at all.. its only using 400mb of ram though when ie and messenger are turned off, but I can notice COH is quite slower atm using 7.3 drivers.

never tried that will have to onthe next vista install ..... But if micro$ lives up to their past ..setup prob won't do it either ...most of that 'app'is just transported from older sys install files....:shadedshu :wtf:
 
Yeah its def a party place any holidays = like 4 days of partying, I was there for Christmas, NEW YEARS and Carnaval.. New Years was the best for me We had 4 days of partying in some small fishing village many km's in the woods :O sounds kinda like that movies lol but it was a blast, the village is a popular place for many Brazilians to go it gets packed. Theres a beautiful beach and you have to cross over some REALLY big sand dunes to get to it.

well gotta go to work, I'll have to check that movie out sometime looks decent.. kinda sick but decent :P.

Nexted time I go to Brazil, I should have a digital cam by than so I can take pics.
