Install-update:
Open 'Device Manager' right click and uninstall the audio device [SS] (tick delete driver), but do not restart.
Run 'CMD' as admin, then use 'pnputil' -or- use 'DriverStoreExplorer', to remove all residual drivers (extensions, other).
You can check the 'Provider', 'Class' and 'Signer' to identify anything that should be removed [SS1][SS2].
Double click 'Install' in the DTS DCH driver folder, then restart.
Use 'Device Manager' [SS1] [SS2] -or- run 'Device Cleanup Tool' as admin (right click), to remove ghost devices.
Restart the computer, then check again for ghosts (restart again if anything was removed).
If you are updating, this pack uses 1 driver, 1 extension and 1 software component (easy to remove).

Enable 'Stereo Mix', mute the stream, then enable 'listen to' (default device) to keep the DTS encoder always on.
You can also do the same if you are using only analogue, it will reduce initializations, and delay.
You can set 'listen to' to a specific device if needed, simply select the device from the drop down menu.

To prevent the provided DTS apps from being automatically updated, disable Windows store auto-updates.
You will also need to uninstall any updated version, before re-installing the provided one.
If you own a Sound Unbound license via the store, you can update it.

If you need to reset DTS and the config cache, delete all the endpoints {DEVIDE-ID} from DTS\APO (see the image below).
Then shutdown the computer, and disconnect the power (PSU switch, wall switch) for 10 minutes.
Its a bit hard to explain but its like RAM is powered with config data, and its forgotten if fully powered off.
Leave the APO key and data, just the endpoints (in the red box).

If you are stuck with Windows downloading drivers-other over the top of DTS DCH, see the guide below.
In more extreme cases, remove them, then use Windows Update MiniTool to hide them.
Regedit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DriverSearching
Create a new DWORD: DriverUpdateWizardWuSearchEnabled (if it exists, set it to 0).
