Best to install linux on it's own ssd after removing or disabling the drive windows in on
Then just use the boot menu to select which os disk you want to use.
Edit easiest way is to use vmware or similar and use linux that way.

Easiest way is to install Windows first. Then, when you install Linux Mint, select the option to install alongside Windows.
If you install Linux first, Windows will write its own bootloader over GRUB. You will only be able to boot into Windows, unless you re-install GRUB and mess with that.
I recommend the first path if possible, since it's simpler.

Hi,
Yeah windows also started writing the system 6-700mb reserved partitions to the end of drives so just that will mess up linux because this is where linux installs it's self if dual booting on the same disk.
