EA & Lucasfilm Games Announce Star Wars Zero Company, a Turn-Based Tactics Game Set in the Clone Wars

EA and Star Wars, what can go wrong?

Jedi Fallen Order was EA I think? I thought it was a great game.

the sequel was still good, but not as good. it had an amazing boss battle though, so yeah I dunno i enjoyed them.

that being said i am not a huge fan of xcom type genre, so i may skip this, but added it to my wishlist to keep an eye on it meh

Fallen Order and Survivor were both pretty good. The "EA + SW = disaster" posts are proof that so many people switch off thinking and just post on autopilot :)

At first, I thought this is some bite-sized mobile-style "tactics" game. To hear this is a proper, X-Com style strategy, with an overlying meta-layer, is definitely exciting.

ya, I am no fan of EA or Ubi, but people need to learn to chill and just try to enjoy things more

that one boss fight in Survivor was fucking wild, lol 10/10 boss fight in Survivor, man that had me on my feet yelling at my monitor at 240 fps 240hz smoothness!!! it was a wild ride

i enjoyed fallen order, have yet to try survivor... and i will probably give this a try... but not the one tied with ubisoft...
look at the aliens franchise which was owned by fox and now bought by disney...
the highers probably picked up on how well fireteam elite and dark descent did they want the star wars game to do the same

EA making more (and better) Star wars games after their exclusively ended and once the SW brand has been damaged by the Sequels and D+ shovelware series.

Ironic.

Anyhow, lookigg forward to this, just wish it wasn't in the clone wars. The clone wars as a setting is done, get over it.

I don't know I found Mandalorian quite refreshing. I also liked Ashoka. If you watched Ashoka you would understand why the Clone Wars is not done.

- Mandalorian S1 was legitimately good because it was off doing it's own thing disconnected from the major events of the universe, but became a victim of its own success. By S3 it's another "SW Cinematic Universe" casualty.

Ashoka is... not good. It has good moments, IMO, and Steven Ray did a great job as Baylan Skoll, but its more entertaining in a "Legends of Hercules" or "Xena Warrior Princess" kind of way than an Andor or Empire Strikes Back kinda way.

Right. Deep turn based combat. There isn't a stat number in sight and there is a console wheel of actions to do.

I'll move on, thanks. This is nothing other than a bog standard TBS copy with a Starwars skin made for consoles.
Hoping you are wrong but believing you are correct

I would say both jedi games were made by Respawn. The first one released in 2019-11 when EA acquired Respawn 2017-11. When these games having about 5 years of developement cycle. And at that time Lucasfilm was in charge of supervising how "Jedi characters" were handled. Of course the licence and editor was EA because of the exclusivity who wanted a Bounty Hunter game... (and she finally had one!)
The second one, as anyone who have played both games can tell, is an expanded version of the first one, similar assets and gameplay, etc. so the core of the game wasn't formed by EA altough you can feel EA in some characters...
BTW both had many problems at launch due to scheduling, I wonder who is in charge of that.

I enjoyed very much both games, maybe not the end of the second one, because of the macguffin and how predictable some stuff was.
