32GB of RAM. Fresh Windows install. I feel like it was doing this a few days ago (before the last full reinstall of Windows - it's been a rough week) and I changed something that I of course can't remember now... But it's back. Searching for solutions is pretty much pointless cause it's just a bunch of "hey try reinstalling the browser" or "get more RAM". This is happening right after restarts, too.

Does your memory show errors when doing a memory stress test as well? (e.g. Memtest64, Memtest86...etc.)

It's an "out of memory" error.... and I'm not having stability issues or anything like that. I think there's just something set wrong, though I can't for the life of me remember what.

I'll run memtest for a while if you think it might be a memory error, though.

Look into testing your memory a bit more. I like TM5, Anta777 Extreme, or Absolute.. Corsair is known for not playing nice with Ryzen. Off the top of my head I would raise VDIMM from 1.35 to 1.4v. If that doesn't do it, then proceed with testing imo.

Should I just swap out this kit? I'm so tired of fighting with this machine. Everything finally settled in, now this. I can get any other DDR4 kit at Microcenter in Madison Heights, MI. At this point I don't care about cost, I just want it to work.

Honestly.. yeah I would. I like G.Skill, but I would maybe check your mobo QVL for something decent

It hasn't been updated in forever so is no help at all. I'm a little shy of G. Skill because I had a kit die on me in normal use, but everyone seems to think the Corsair is problematic. I don't know.

I only buy Asus boards, and G.Skill ram, so I am out of ideas :D

Well, don't want to jinx it, but raising vdimm a little seems to have solved it for now. Thanks.

Turn off browser hardware acceleration for any browser giving you problems while watching video.

Anything chromium based & you do this ~ it's really a massive pain ITA these days, probably pushing a lot of users back to FF or other alternatives!

Do you use ESET security software?

ya i believe its a memory leak that will never be addressed

Virtual memory (paging file) not set or too low?

I've ran into issues with games before throwing out "out of memory" messages because for some reason a clean install of Windows didn't set the paging file like it should have. I wouldn't have known no paging file was set had it not been for a couple of games giving me out of memory message even though my RAM wasn't completely used and neither was the VRAM on the GPU.

I never run page files :rockout:

Low on free disk space can result in out of memory errors too.

Looks like mine failed, too, Windows 11 on May 18th, suddenly changed the screen in my face to blue and said "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" then rebooted itself.

Windows 11 had never done that in 2022, making the RAM the most sus. It was with my G.Skill TridentZ Neo F4-3600C18D-32GTZN. BS if you ask me, because the RAM timings were "loosy-goosy", LOL.

That is a weird one. Have you tried Chrome and/or Firefox?

If so and you're having the same error, what are your PageFile settings?

This could be a situation. I have read elsewhere that the recent versions of Egde do not play well with pagefiles that have less than 6GB allocated.

Yeah I don't know. Seems to be an early indicator of RAM voltage being set too low. I bumped it up a tiny bit and it went away - this Corsair kit is probably getting replaced in the next couple days, I'm not okay with XMP settings not being fully stable. Anyway, a RAM voltage bump and forcing a HDR color profile via flags in browser took care of most of my issues with Edge, but the fight is never ending.

Qmazon Prime Video is the worst offender, but sometimes it will do it with YouTube, too - random resetting of the display signal or some other malformation. This is a software problem (I already bought 2 HDMI cables in addition to the 4 or 5 I'd already tried, it's not the cable) and yes turning off hardware acceleration in the browser eliminates it, but that's not a solution because it also disables HDR.

I've also had it do this with some content in VLC, so I'm guessing it's more to do with some failure to handshake properly between the card and TV, or not quite the right signal sent in the first place. Zero issues with a similar setup using the old RTX 2080.

It's not just "don't buy AMD if you care about raytracing" it's also "don't buy AMD if you care about HDR" apparently. The most common "fix" for this issue I've seen (as it seems to be pretty common and long-standing) is using a DP to HDMI cable or adapter, which again, like disabling hardware acceleration in the browser or playback app, breaks HDR. Unacceptable.

Low on free disk space can result in out of memory errors too.
This happened with a 2tb drive with nothing but an updated copy of 11 Pro on it, so definitely not the case here.

So far as I can tell it was RAM voltage / stability related. This kit will boot and get in to Windows at XMP but needs like .05v more to be stable beyond that.

Unstable/incompatible RAM.

Stay away from Corsair memory on AMD systems, they're nothing but trouble, this is from personal experience as well as from what I've seen in various other cases.
