Hi hope you guys are well. I am new here and I am looking for help on my laptop as soon as I Ioad into a game edp other and pl2 flashes red and yellow then my fps drops from 60fps to 15fps, and I'm almost on low settings I've tried running the throttle stop benchamrk 120M, 8 threads then it doesn't pop up not sure what to do. A couple of days ago I had no problems whatsoever ran the game on max settings no fps drop running 45fps. I've seen a post about the iccmax and it took away the edp other for core and ring always glowing red but that's how far I got.

If anyone can maybe help with identifying what is wrong here I would appreciate the help.

Let me know if I missed something I need to add then I'll get that information up as soon as I can.

Try checking the MMIO Lock box which is near the top right of the TPL window. On the main screen, check the Log File box and play a game for 15 minutes. When done testing, attach a log file to your next post.

Most laptops use a variety of power limit throttling methods. Your screenshots show the CPU is running at its proper speed. Hopefully a log file will show what your laptop is doing.

Ok so I've turned on the Log file and the ticked the lock box like you asked me to do, ran a game probably 15 minutes give or take when I went to look at the log it says power status change and pl 2 ill add the file for reference. what I also noticed is the battery. it looks like my laptop is being unplugged and then plugged back in every few seconds while playing a game. you can look at the photo I sent yesterday aswell the battery is showing -688w and chaning to normal. is that normal in this situation?

This is possible. Some laptops use power adapters that are not capable of fully powering the CPU and GPU. They might have to get some additional power from the battery when necessary.

How many watts is your power adapter rated for? If you use ThrottleStop to try and fix a throttling problem but your computer is not designed to run your CPU and GPU at full speed then you will end up creating a new problem. I do not fully understand the POWER STATUS messages that show up in the log file.

is that normal in this situation?
No it is not normal.

I am sure something is not right or poorly designed but I am not 100% sure what. Without ever having tested your laptop when it was brand new, I have nothing to compare to. Is your individual power adapter a piece of crap or are all the power adapters recommended for your laptop model barely adequate? I don't know the answer. All I know is that other properly functioning laptops do not have constant POWER STATUS messages showing up in the log file.

Inadequate power might be causing the GPU to throttle. That might be what is causing the big FPS drops. Did you turn on Battery Monitoring in the Options window? Also turn on Nvidia GPU monitoring so this data is included in the log file.

Sorry for taking so long to answer you back yes. I bought a new laptop charger a week after I bought this laptop because it was 6.7a/130w and I needed at least 11.8a/230w. I got a 12.3a/240w charger. I also logged the requested data for you to examine, I hope this will help determine the problem.
