Error: CPU Fan is not working

My motherboard doesn't have PWM support. It IS plugged into a 3 pin slot.

Should re-read the thread next time :p

Well then guess you'll have to try the fans I'll be sending you.

My motherboard does not have a BIOS to update it with. It's one of those crappy computers I got from Best Buy with terrible(no) support.

@Kenshai - Yes I will!

ALL BIOS' should be able to be updated...

I've tried. There's no support whatsoever.

Hmmm so your right, it's like ASUS have no knowledge of this board

Maybe you should Email HP and/or ASUS to see what they say about this.

You know what the funny thing is? It's not HP.

Sorry my mistake, i thought i seen you mention HP somewhere, but in that case just Email Gateway if your pretty sure it's a Gateway system, or whatever.

No, I didn't mean that. I Googled it myself and got a lot of HP models. Maybe it was swapped out when I took it for repair a year back. I would've fixed it myself but I didn't know anything about comps back then.

do you get a BIOS boot screen? as in third party, Emachines, or Gateway or HP etc for example?

if you can find the company that makes the motherboard you can usualy get a bios from the retail board and flash it to your gateway system.

open your computer and look at the motherboard it should say asus/foxconn/ecs with a model number next to it.

ASUS have no data on his board what so ever!!! :twitch:

they will claim they dont know but just look for a motherboard with the same specs and then find pics of it and see if it looks the same

Hmmm that could be very risky don't ya think.

without a doubt but there are few other options .

what chipset does it have? does it have any raid controllers? who makes the onboard network adapter?

GeForce 6150 LE chipset
10/100 Marvell 88EC031

Not sure about RAID.

Geo if you're looking to help lets do this through PM and post here if we find a solution.

... Doesn't a friend or family member have a rig what you can test the fan on?
