eSIM vs physical SIM?

I only used eSIM briefly while I've had my Z Flip 3 and honestly, functionally being the same, eSIM's just aren't as flexible when you're talking about national/domestic use. I'd personally stick to dual physical SIM phones if this is a big deal to you - I personally carry both an iPhone and an Android phone with me so the physical SIM thing is still the comfier arrangement. I honestly can't say that going from SIM to eSIM made any difference to me. Been w/ it since I got my Pixel 7.
The only thing I will say is that in the past I have had to replace SIM cards due to jank over time, so this seems less problematic.

I don't switch phones or SIMs when I travel. I just use WiFi since I can call/text over it, worst case I take out a monthly international plan.

All the three phones (S24 Ultra/Z Fold4/Z Flip5) I use on a regular basis have both SIM and eSIM, but I don't bother with eSIM only because the telco SIM service I subscribe to has free overseas usage. I basically get 1GB of data free when I'm overseas (Asia) like, say, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc. This works out nicely for me as I'll be going to Thailand next month to attend my niece's wedding reception.

I prefer an esim in a sual sim phone.

Esim for domestic use then grab a physical sim whenever I am abroad.
