I only used eSIM briefly while I've had my Z Flip 3 and honestly, functionally being the same, eSIM's just aren't as flexible when you're talking about national/domestic use. I'd personally stick to dual physical SIM phones if this is a big deal to you - I personally carry both an iPhone and an Android phone with me so the physical SIM thing is still the comfier arrangement. Also old thread lol :D

I honestly can't say that going from SIM to eSIM made any difference to me. Been w/ it since I got my Pixel 7.
The only thing I will say is that in the past I have had to replace SIM cards due to jank over time, so this seems less problematic.

I don't switch phones or SIMs when I travel. I just use WiFi since I can call/text over it, worst case I take out a monthly international plan.

Doesn't matter to me - or most other people i should think.

I got the 128gb s23 since storage hardly matters to me... and using 40% of it.

Currently just 25% using of my storage here.... S23 128GB.. (plenty of storage)

+Dual nano SIM + eSIM. (using 1 nano SIM)

Hi,
From what I noticed there is no extra charge for esim.

Depends on provider maybe?

All the three phones (S24 Ultra/Z Fold4/Z Flip5) I use on a regular basis have both SIM and eSIM, but I don't bother with eSIM only because the telco SIM service I subscribe to has free overseas usage. I basically get 1GB of data free when I'm overseas (Asia) like, say, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc. This works out nicely for me as I'll be going to Thailand next month to attend my niece's wedding reception.

I prefer an esim in a sual sim phone.

Esim for domestic use then grab a physical sim whenever I am abroad.

I hate eSIMs, had to do it with an iphone on cricket, required calling the customer support line and getting a QU code sent, whereas had it been a physical SIM, a 10 second swap would have done all of this.

AND, there's fees! Many carriers you have to PAY to activate an eSIM. Absolutely ridiculous.

Much like audio jacks, I'm going to end up one of those luddites who just doesnt "get it".

I'm in Asia, the telco I subscribed to is pretty good, I'm using a SIM, and overseas data roaming is free up to 1GB within Asia, in Canada, I recall having to pay about 3USD (converted from local $) for 1GB of roaming data. That is sufficient for me to check my emails, Whatsapp home and such...not really a burden unless I exceed the allotted 1GB, but then, the surcharge is still quite reasonable. My present phone allows for dual SIM, Nano + eSIM, but I've found no need for the use of eSIM thus far.
