Yes pls gimme a laptop that has this in it...^_^

6990M = 6870 ? , looks like the same specs to me ?

that is because the 6990M is essentially the same as a 6870 desktop GPU

two AMD Radeon HD 6990M GPUs in CrossFireX on a single PCIe in "near silent" low power please.

6990M = 6870 ? , looks like the same specs to me ?

And GTX 280M was an 8800 GT.

They pull this stuff all the time.

The bad part is.. the HD 6990M costs as much as the HD 6990.

580m= 560TI
570m= 560

Someone tell me what the slot interface is called for a mobile FF video card. Is it some variation of PCIe? How many lanes are available on the card?

The thing is AMD didn't start doing this until recently, I think. Used to be, a 3870 was the same as a 3870M and whatnot. :shadedshu

I don't understand using 6990M for a GPU at HD 6870 level. Why not 6870M?

Oh, because they probably have a 6870M that is equivalent to some other HD card of course.

When I first saw the name 6990, I assumed they somehow created a dual GPU mobile equvialent of the HD 6990. Silly me. :confused:

Thx, here's the meat of version 3.0 support (the multiple display support is cool):

Major Features
MXM version 3.0 supports the following features:
  • up to 16 lanes PCIe Gen2
  • 64-b, 128-b and 256-b memory interface using up to 8 DDR2, DDR3, GDDR3, GDDR5 memory devices
  • up to 4 Dual mode Display Ports (with support for DVI/HDMI)
  • one 24-bit dual link LVDS
  • one legacy analog display (multiplexed VGA/TV)

Eurocom good stuff.
Website ready for xfire 6990m pre-orders ?

........ zzzzzzzzz, are we there yet ? LOL
